Positive: A perfect location from which to explore the island. Simon, our host, was a mine of information, gave us useful and helpful information about where to go and what to do and made us very welcome. The cottage is comfortable, spacious and well equipped.

Negative: No dishwasher.

Positive: I loved the location of the property about 10/ 20 minutes drive from most of the historic sites we wanted to see. The house is about 10 minutes drive outside Stromness in a very quiet location, by a quiet roadside. The owner Simon was so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful and he responded to our requests for information immediately. The house has everything you need and was comfortable, warm and spotless and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property. Love Orkney and thank you Simon for all the info and suggestions for spectacular walks, we even saw puffins at Brough of Birsay and enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Standing Stones Hotel listening to the Birsay boys play in the folk festival! Hope to return one day to explore the islands further.

Negative: Nothing I didn't like but should mention it is on a quiet roadside and although cars are few and far between, they do tend to pass at speed so please be aware of that.

Summary: Lovely comfortable house with everything you'll need for your stay.
