Positive: The breakfast was good, and served in an open restaurant at the shores of Lake Victoria. This hotel is located right at the shore of the lake, with the breezes coming in to cool you off since the place is hot. There is a clean and functional swimming pool.

Negative: There is need to pave the compound to eliminate dust. The mattresses and the pillows are not comfortable at all. The rooms do not have air conditioners and the fans provided are not quite the solution to the heat in this area, given that one cannot keep the windows open lest mosquitoes get in. There is a big need for the control of flies in the restaurant area. The staff at the reception need to be more pleasant and welcoming.

Positive: The location on Rusinga Island was great, only a short distance from the main island road. Room was comfortable and clean enough. Breakfast by the lake was fantastic! The absolute stand out is the breathtaking sunrise you get from your hotel room and balcony!

Negative: It was really hard to regulate the temperature of the shower so it would get extremely hot and the water pressure was low.

Summary: We loved our stay at White Stone, highly recommend!

Positive: The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and prompt. The food was delicious!

Negative: The road leading to the hotel is terrible. Requires a 4*4 vehicle. The outdoor seating area was minimal. You don’t really get to enjoy the beach view as the lake has swallowed up the beach part of the hotel
