This 1985 VW Westfalia has everything you need to explore the island your way. This classic bus seats & sleeps up to 4 adults in its 2 fold out beds. It also includes a kitchenette with sink, cooler, and two burner stove. There are direct hookups for electricity & plenty of storage. Recent upgrades include LED headlights, dashboard phone holders, new mirror +driver seatbelt.
The campervan is mobile! You will want to book a campsite in advance to park the van overnight. We recommend the state and county campsites via respective websites. Some of our favorites are Malaekahana, Ho'omaluhia Botancial Garden and Bellows Beach. Camping permits can be obtained no sooner than two weeks in advance and some campsites are popular and sell out quickly. As many sites do not allow vehicular camping, we also provide a small tent. You can also book a private campsite found using apps like "HipCamp."

Summary: This van was amazing to rent and travel in! Check in and return process were super streamlined and thorough, really appreciated the owners walking through all the features in person and being flexible with checkout location. There are lots of quirks that come with an older vehicle, like no ac and a bit slower highway speeds. But these were expected and the small fan plus window vents made nights sleeping even in pretty warm temperatures doable, much better when there was a breeze. And we were able to get around everywhere we wanted to reliably and safely. Since this vehicle is so iconic, we also had lots of positive interactions with fellow travelers and locals who seemed excited to see a rig like this traveling around the island! Really appreciated all the little touches and how homey everything felt :)

Summary: Not only did this VRBO meet the standard, the host Desiree went above and beyond. The communication was above par, she did everything that she could to make this short trip for a family emergency easy to find and manage. We did not have to worry about anything else. I will definitely be recommending this VRBO Westy to friends and family who may want to see the island as we do.

Summary: West Side Westy is the best way to tour Oahu! It is a clean, safe, fun ride. It comes fully outfitted with everything you need to go glamping! All the way down to snorkels and fins if needed. My son and I, both over 6ft, spent a week in a park, and then at a farm living out of, cooking in and sleeping in Westy while we toured the whole island. Saved us a ton on food being able to cook in Westy, and was way more convenient and cost effective than a hotel and rental car. West Side Westy is the way to go. Her owner is super cool and happy to accommodate anything you will need also.
