Positive: Waterfront tidal location Great mainland base Selection of welcome food and drink Interior design choice (apart from bedding) Parking Helpful host

Negative: No en-suite shower - this is downstairs instead there is a double jacuzzi. If going again I would book the room with a shower Several people commented on challenges exiting onto the main road. I didn’t find this a problem as plants cut back enabled views of oncoming cars and the road wasn’t hugely busy Not close to good restaurants/pubs for an evening meal but not a major problem as out and about everyday

Summary: A great base from which to explore the Orkneys over 5days, shame I couldn’t stay longer

Positive: The location is out of town, but that suited us, as it would many people. The room, is very nice, with views across the water and a lovely seat in a window alcove. The bathroom is very well appointed. Lovely place.

Summary: A lovely place to stay and easy driving to all of Mainland Orkney.

Negative: Not what was advertised . I was expecting a self catering cottage and king size room with use of a kitchen as it was advertised as Jupiter cottage with king size bedroom . It is a small room with small double bed in an attic with sloping roof . Not great for anyone over 5ft 5. No sink . Outcries hard with breakfast things ( croissant , jam, eggs , toast ) but I would have rather had use of a kitchen . It is on a noisy road and has a noisy air duct so had to sleep with ear plugs . Silly things like a TV in the bathroom do not make up for pokey space and noise . Had use of a washing machine .

Positive: Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The location is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. The views from the room out onto the Firth are just breathtaking at every time of day. Kim was a wonderful host who had really thought of everything. There was nothing we wanted for in the room. The welcome pack and refreshments in the fridge are a fantastic touch that shows how much above and beyond Kim goes! We loved having the option of grabbing a light breakfast from the communal mini kitchen. I don’t think I could ever run out of good things to stay about Waterfront House! Thank you so much for making the end of our stay in Orkney so special.
