Summary: We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in these quite unique surroundings. Our hosts were fabulous and friendly towards us. Everything was done professionally and we enjoyed a great experience. The gite and surrounding gardens were stunning. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a chilled out break. Would revisit.

Summary: We have stayed in this apartment in this lovely garden several times. It is a convenient location from which to visit many sites in Normandy. The hosts are so charming. We always enjoy our visit here!

Summary: Absolutely the place to be if you enjoy hearing birds and smelling the acres of trees and flowers. Your concerns and cares will simply disappear as you kick back on your terrace and survey your own private little paradise lovingly created and maintained by your excellent hosts Armelle and Michel. They are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and sensitive to your time and privacy. Really enjoyed our time and appreciated their enormous patience with my lack of French! Regardless, communication was always made and they ensured our stay a memorable one. An excellent property for sure.

Summary: Had a great week at this property, which is in a peaceful location surrounded by the beautiful garden of Armelle and Michel's home. They were helpful and considerate hosts, and Armelle provided us with fresh flowers and home produce from her garden. It is in a rural area with farms and fruit orchards and lots of pretty thatched cottages, but is also just across the bridge from the town of Caudebec-en-Caux. We used the bikes to cycle to Jumierge and visit the Abbey there. The cycle trip included a ride on one of the numerous (free) ferries across the Seine. There are several abbeys, chateaux and villages to visit in the area and it is about an hour's drive to Monet's stunning gardens at Giverny. Would recommend this property.

Summary: Long live the difference. Let me explain. I will describe what I believe to be the minimum requirements of a holiday let, and then point out “the difference” which makes this an exceptional find. Its really nice to come across something that exceeds expectations. 1)Arrival and greeting A friendly welcome is always going to start the holiday off well. The difference – this one was heartfelt and warm. 2) Great accommodation All amenities as described to be available. The difference – the little touches. A magnificent floral display in the lounge area, with the cut flowers coming from the hosts own garden, and arranged in a very professional manner. The basics in terms of kitchen items to be available. The difference – some chocolate, biscuits, and a beautifully dressed dining table. Kitchen items not normally provided, were readily available e.g. salt, pepper, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, cooking foil etc. 3) Information on surrounding area. It’s always nice if there are a few leaflets available describing the surrounding area and places to visit. The difference – up to date local news on places to go, and things to see. There is a local ferry service, now retired due to the new bridge nearby, that is run one day per year, and a local festival in the nearby town of Caudebec-en-caux, something we would never have been aware of without the kind sharing of this information. A mid-week market (again not mentioned in any leaflet) was also shared with us. The knowledge of both Armelle and Michel about the surrounding area is extensive and openly and willing shared. If you want to know anything, they will be only too happy to help. 4) Privacy You really don’t want to be bothered with the hosts during your holiday. The difference – despite being in the hosts grounds, the gite was treated with the utmost respect for our privacy. The hosts will only approach you if necessary or invited to do so. 5)Additional services The difference – these were not asked for, nor advertised, but very welcomed in deed. To what to I elude you may ask? Well I will not say as I am not happy to mislead you into expecting something that may not be possible to be provided during your stay, nor am I happy to set Armelle and Michel any goals that they must achieve for your stay. I will however wage a bet that you will find something “out of the blue”, during your stay that will be very special to you. May I strongly suggest that you take up my recommendation to stay here.

Summary: We had such a wonderful week. This is a beautiful area, not far from the ferry at Le Havre and yet so much to see and do. A level walk of about 900 metres to the river Seine and fascinating to watch life on the river whether the tide was in or out. The Foret de Brotonne was simply amazing to drive through - so quiet and peaceful. The gite is all upstairs and we spent the whole time on the terrace, half way up the trees, surrounded by bird song and beauty. Armelle and Michel so kind and helpful and so justly proud of their wonderful garden. There are lovely trips to be taken along the Seine and free ferries to cross too! Some knowledge of French would be helpful.

Summary: Thank you Armelle and Michel. We had a wonderful weekend. You made us feel very welcome and your gardens are truly amazing. For anyone wanting to visit, if you like amazing gardens then you will LOVE the work they have put into the garden. It was our first visit to the pays de caux and I think we will definitely be back!
