Positive: Location . Quiet and peaceful (no Weddings though during my stay). Staff -- especially Front Desk and Bar chap (Elliott) - friendly and helpful. Breakfast - -good choice on a standard buffet arrangement. Hotel grounds - impressive and tidy. Back to a Double Room in Main House - much better . Well equipped , tea / coffee , desk fan in the current hot weather.

Negative: "Main House - "Grange" / Lodge feels remote and disconnected ; the feeling of a care home without the staff or patients ! Only one other guest in the entire Grange building. Looked at three different Rooms - my allocated Single in the Main House which was dusty and cramped. Phone didn't work. Asked for a change - done with £10 supplement... Evening Dinner (single Restaurant only open) -- limited options on an already fairly small Menu -- "gas oven not working" apparently - went out to local Pub .

Summary: Very well located in a Hotel that has seen better days - but friendly Staff and quite good Rooms

Positive: Breakfast was very good...

Negative: I am afraid to report that the room was too hot... a manual fan was provided but it made little difference... Also hot water was coming out of the cold water tap (room 23)
