Positive: Great friendly staff (Yorkshire lass on reception 😀) gorgeous decor, comfortable beds, pub food amazing. All staff were friendly and helpful, .great value for money.

Negative: Plumbing problem in first room. Moved promptly to another room, missing towels, heating turned off. Worn out mattress (which we only discovered when we went to bed), swapped next day. Constant noise from air con units at the back of the function room. Yet again there were items on the breakfast menu that were not available. Apart from the perpetual missing 'berry brioche' from the breakfast menu this was not typical of our past experience at this hotel, which has normally been positive.

Positive: We had dinner on the Friday evening, wonderful service and fantastic food, and the live music on the night in the hall was free and me and my daughter were invited to go into the hall after our meal. Which was fantastic for us both we danced then night away. The staff are wonderful and in particular the lady that served us dinner madison was the name on our receipt so I do hope I have the right name, she also served us from the bar on the Thursday evening as well, I was happy to tip because they gave me and my daughter a personal experience and it makes us want to stay more often in the hotel and come back again to eat. The staff are competent and knowledgeable and always go above and beyond for all customers.

Negative: I suppose not having someone man the reception at the hotel but there was staff on it in the mornings, however come afternoon and evening time we had to go to pub for queries, I didn’t like that they had no bath matts even though on the signs on the bathroom it says to ask for one if needed, went into pub to ask as nobody on reception, and was told I can just use a towel instead for the bath, so I wasn’t impressed with that.. it needs updating if you don’t stock them or have them In use.

Summary: Perfect stay away, peaceful, quiet, good food, and friendly and competent staff.
