Positive: Firstly Frank was very proactive and always communicating to us prior arrival and while we are staying at his property. The self contained apartment is about 25m square, a bit smaller to our liking but it is very comfortable and in a great location, close to teams, cafes and restaurants, VondelPark and other sights, all within walking distance. Apartment had a nice ensuite, washing machine and dryer all in one (I do look for washing facilities when travelling for weeks), small kitchenette (small hotplates, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, lots of kitchen utensils), clothes airer, ironing board. Frank offered to give the room a quick service every two days but we are not messy people and happy to skip that as only staying for four nights. Not sure what it is like as heating is controlled from his downstairs home. We like a cool room so was pleased we were able to open windows and a door to a small balcony overlooking the back garden.

Negative: I was not familiar with homes in Amsterdam and was surprised a week prior to leaving Melbourne, was made aware by my Dutch friend that Amsterdam has narrow and steep stairs. I have a sciatica leg and it wasn’t as easy for me but manageable. There is a handrail and Franks was obliging to take my big case up for me. I am mentioning this for the elderly who is not able to tackle stairs.

Summary: Lovely comfortable stay in a well equipped small apartment, convenient to everything. Great host.

Positive: All around perfect. The room is well decorated , efficient and very clean. The beds were comfortable, TV worked like a dream, the balcony was a huge bonus. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Positive: What a lovely place! Very comfortable bed, great bathroom, and fantastic location. Frank was a delight to deal with, offering early check-in and luggage storage on the day of departure. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Positive: Linen sheets, comfy bed, blackout curtains and blinds, double glazing and the quietness. This accommodation is beautifully appointed. It’s cosy and very functional. The location is excellent.

Negative: The very steep steps upstairs to the apartment. It was great that Frank was there and he easily took our bags up to the first floor for us.

Positive: Wow can’t say enough good things! The location is incredible, the house is stunning, and Frank (the owner) is so hospitable. We will definitely bookmark this property for future stays!

Negative: The stairs are tiny so Frank had to help with my big luggage and I felt awful. Just keep in mind for packing!
