Positive: Beautiful, rustic cottage just outside Egilsstadir. We loved the location right next to the reindeer farm and next to several other cottages. A full kitchen, bathroom and two upstairs bedrooms were clean, comfy and had lovely beds and linens. A great place to see the Aurora if the sky is clear, very dark and free of light pollution. It is also located just a few minutes from the Vok Baths which is an absolute must if you are in the area. I rank Vok and Forrest Lagoon way above the much more famous Blue Lagoon, so definitely check it out. If you bring your own food there is a nice deck and BBQ to use. I would love to have stayed another night or two, maybe next time!

Positive: Great cottage with good facilities, good sized bedrooms and a patio. Shower was also excellent. Easy to find, check in, park and a short drive to the town. Stayed for two nights as a family.

Negative: One minor complaint was the smoke alarm was on the kitchen counter without a battery and we got no reply from the owner when we messaged about this.

Positive: Ground floor hall was large and comfortable. The property is good for staying for larger groups of people, who can all sleep comfortably.

Negative: There was only one toilet bathroom provided for such a large cottage. The top floor beds could've been more comfortable and private. The lights can be brighter.

Positive: Very cosy, well equipped apartment. Right in the woods yet very close to the town. Supermarket available (5mins drive). Would surely recommend for a night stay along the ring road.

Negative: The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds in one line with a curtain. So be prepared since the pictures are not very clear.

Summary: Perfect for our overnight stay!

Positive: Very quiet location (almost feels like in a forest), just a few minutes away from the town and from the Vök Baths. Quaint little house that feels fairly spacious.

Negative: Bathroom was tiny, kitchen equipment is very used. Some people might have trouble with the fairly narrow and steep staircase to get to the bedrooms on the first floor. Living room feels a bit cramped.

Positive: The cutest little woodland cottage! It was so quiet and the surrounding woods are beautiful. The bonus was visiting the reindeer in the back! Very clean and comfortable. We wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer!
