The Vineyard Mansion Carriage house is a historic mansion built in 1890. Recently restored, the Carriage House, a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom self sufficient apartment detached from the main house with private access and full home amenities. The mansion is close to the historic city center, art, museums, culture, and parks. You’ll love my place because of the historic neighborhood, the comfy bed, the coziness of the carriage house, and fully functional kitchen.
The Carriage House apartment offers 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with the option of a second full size bed off the living area if needed. This is a self sufficient apartment so there will be no breakfast served. There are some breakfast items in the food pantry if you wish to make your own breakfast. Feel free to use the kitchen as if it was your home away from home.
Guest will have complete access to the Carriage House apartment which includes a full kitchen, dining room, living room with cable TV, bedroom and additional bed off living area.
For your convenience, we have a live-in property manager/host who is available to answer questions, offer suggestions for nearby attractions, and provide some history about the property.

Summary: The listing has great potential but is in need of some TLC. Bathroom tile was beautiful. Hardwood floors could use a refinishing and bedroom ceiling where there was an apparent leak needs help. The listing should also note there are a lot of stairs involved and broken sidewalks. We are both in our mid-seventies and it was not a problem for us but could be for some. Interior design was appropriate for the period.

Summary: We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the location in the Museum District of St Joseph. There are a number of excellent food venues within walking distance. We recommend the JC Wyeth House for very fine dining, make sure to call for a reservation at least two weeks in advance. The Vineyard Mansion is lovely. Situated next to the Wyeth-Toole mansion on a high point in the city that provides a view of the Missouri River. The location is quiet, with very little traffic and noise. The price is reasonable and the provided amenities are thoughtful.
