Spacious contemporary vineyard and boutique winery property on seven acres in the Columbia River Gorge. Amenities abound: Hot tub, sauna, three fireplaces, exercise room with treadmill, covered play area and huge den with flat screen TV.
Sip & stay! The property has a small working winery onsite and Hawkins Cellars tasting room which is open 2-5 days a week and is located in a separate area on the lower level of the house. Enjoy optional onsite outdoor yoga classes and/or live music (seasonally) from the deck.
The house is set off the bluff in Underwood, Washington (10-15 minutes to Hood River and White Salmon, WA), considered to be one of the best kept secrets in the Gorge for its views! It is close to the Gorge's most popular hiking spots, premier wineries and wedding sites, and yet minutes away from Hood River and White Salmon.
Relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views of Mt. Hood from EVERY room and from the wrap-around deck. The over 4,000 square foot house has three river rock gas fireplaces in the living room, den and master bedroom. The beautiful dining room table sits 6 plus 4 bar stools in the large gourmet kitchen.

Summary: The host was quick to respond to texts and phone calls. She graciously redeemed a miscommunication. This was a beautiful home that included more than we imagined as far as kid’s’ toys and fun play area, entertainment room, and well thought out kitchen tools. I would highly recommend.

Summary: Our family loved the ample space indoors and outside. Family meals were easy to create with a well stocked kitchen that had all the cooking ware as well as quality spices and cooking basics on hand. Our favorite feature of the home was the “in-house spa experience” from using the gym, steam shower, sauna, and hot tub.

Summary: The house is in a beautiful location but in need of some updates. Great space for our group to enjoy the view, play games and soak in the hot tub. I forgot to add our pet and the owner was able to add and adjust our details at the last minute. One of the stove burners didn’t work and most of the games were in rough shape. The kitchen is a great spot for cooking and hanging out with the fireplace and view.

Summary: We rented this property for a week long family vacation with our adult children and their spouses. Highlights: The setting is peaceful and absolutely beautiful; it was a real treat to wake up to and end our days here. It's conveniently located 15 minutes from the toll-bridge at Hood River, ($2/car each way)-note: many activities are on the opposite side of the Columbia. The home had plenty of space for being together (deck, living room, kitchen, game room) yet enough areas for separate, quiet times in smaller groups, too. Beds were all comfortable and towels and bedding were high quality. The house was very clean except vaulted corners and window screens with spider webs (but it's a wooded area, so...). Drawbacks: 1) The wine tasting schedule expanded to Thursday through Monday (12-6 pm daily) since we booked (we were told Fri-Sun). When it was open we could not use the hot tub, we didn't want to be on the deck as it was no longer private, and the conversations from below were audible inside the house (the mountain wind allows open windows unless temps exceed 85). It may not be a deal-breaker, but something of which to be aware. 2) The master bedroom and bathroom (both spacious and well-appointed) did not have ANY window coverings. There are full-length patio doors along two sides of the bedroom and the entire length of the bathroom wall (add mirrors and every square inch is visible from outside-including the shower). With the activity at the vineyard just 20 yards away we felt quite exposed, despite some strategically placed landscaping. We resorted to changing inside the walk-in closet, and hung sheets on the four poster frame when more privacy was called for. 3) Slow internet. Three family members needed to work a couple days during the trip and the Wifi was just so slow. It was fine for surfing on phones, iPads, email, etc. (we had 12 devices) but larger data needs such as Xcel spreadsheets or using Zoom, did not work for us. We even tried an ethernet connection to the main Google hub. The manager said they had done homeschooling & remote work without problems before, and she did make attempts to resolve this, but the bottom line is it is a rural area with slower speeds than many of us are accustomed to-they used mobile hotspots from phones to get by. Note: the wines at the vineyard are award-winning, fairly priced, we liked virtually every vintage offered, and the staff are knowledgable and friendly.

Summary: We had a family get together with our adult children and grandson. This was the perfect place. The house was spacious and well outfitted. And most important for me, CLEAN. Coming from the east coast, it was awesome to find all the comforts of home and more. Comfortable beds, thick towels, well appointed kitchen with everything 8 people would need to spend the week. Our grandson especially loved the trampoline. BBQing dinner on the grill we found we didn't have wine needed for dinner. No problem, just go downstairs and purchase a bottle of delicious wine to go along. The location was great especially for my wine loving husband & son who enjoyed the nearby vineyards. Hikes along many nearby trails, Lost Lakes and of course who couldn't miss Mt. Hood. The deck views are beyond description. Perfect place, perfect vacation. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.
