5 Bedroom Villa in Bellante

Villa Il Frutteto is situated on the outskirts of the village of Bellante, which is located between the small city of Teramo and the coastal town of Giulianova in Abruzzo. The location is very quiet with 360' views over rolling hills covered with olive groves, wheat fields, and sunflowers with small hilltop villages dotted around and distant views to the Gran Sasso mountain range. The villa is easy to get to being only 8 minutes drive from the A14 autostrada and 4 minutes from A24 superstrada giving easy access to the mountains of the national parks and the beaches at Giulianova, Tortoreto, Roseto degli Abruzzi and Pineto. It is at the end of a 1km stone road so there is no passing traffic just tranquility!
The villa was constructed in 2015 as an eco house with a lot of insulation so is warm in winter, cool in summer and all rooms have white timber beamed ceilings. The first floor is reached via an external staircase. There are 4 large double bedrooms on the first floor, 3 with balconies and amazing views, all with ensuite shower rooms, 2 with extra daybeds giving 4 more beds, (two of the extra beds are small so they are only suitable for children under the age of 12). There is a large bedroom on the ground floor with ensuite shower room a double bed and two single beds, suitable for wheelchair access. On the ground floor there is a large modern kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. A separate cloakroom WC, a dining room and sitting room both with patio doors opening onto a large terrace with sitting area, tables and chairs, a large BBQ and spectacular views over the hillsides. There is 5m x 11m swimming pool . 2025 POOL OPENS 10 May closes end of September. There are sunbeds and covered pergola for shade and a large garden with ornamental shrubs, olive and fruit trees. Beaches at Giulianova are 20 minutes drive away, local shops and restaurants are 7 minutes drive away and you can reach the mountains in 40 minutes, where there are lakes, walking trails and spectacular scenery in the National parks. From Bellante stazione there are regular daily coaches to Rome central, 2hr 45mins. This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility, spend lazy days around the pool and in the evenings sip a glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo on the terrace while watching the sunset over the Gemelli mountains. The location and easy accessibility means you can get out and about and enjoy the many attractions of Abruzzo and the many local food and wine markets and festas held in our local villages throughout the summer months.

Summary: The villa was perfect for our large group of 11. Comfortable, spacious, quiet, and well equipped. The description and photos in the listing are very accurate, and the hosts are wonderful people (and quick to respond). The 360 view of the countryside was very impressive… what a spectacular view! Many restaurants, grocery stores and old towns within 15-30 minutes. We will definitely return.

Summary: Fantastic on all counts, the property, the location and John and Sue the wonderful hosts. Some great memories for 16 of us spanning 3 generations. Summary: 6 adults and 6 children looked for the feeling of the Italian countryside - and we found it! We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. The surroundings were so beautiful and you could look in any direction and the views of the fields and mountains were there. When it comes to the house the great hosts Sue and John have thought of everything. Everything we wanted was there and it felt like we were living at a hotel. We would gladly be back for an other vacation at Il Frutteto!

Summary: Il Frutetto ('the orchard') was an absolute joy. John and Sue were consummate hosts–funny, articulate, helpful and knowledgeable. The views are stunning from all directions. The estate is well laid-out, with a very functional and well-stocked kitchen, and the pool and decks were a true luxury. Know that it is a bit out in the country, so a drive is required to get to sights and shopping. We found incredible dining in Julianova (Taglietto, and others) and a great enoteca (wine shop) about 5 km away (but a very decent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can be had at the market for 3 euro)! Sue also arranged a local cook to come in and demonstrate the making of a 3 course meal (a homemade savory ravioli, a superb lamb dish, and custard for dessert). There is much to see and do in Abruzzo, but relaxing in a place like Il Frutetto itself was worth the trip.

Summary: We were two families looking for a large property with a pool, ideally within reach of villages and the sea. John and Sue, our hosts, provided us with this and more. The house is larger than it seems from the photos, is very clean, furnished with good quality items, and has the most fantastic views. We were within 25 minutes of good beaches and restaurants and an hour into the Apennine Mountains. It was very hot when we were there but the large fans provided kept us cool at night, and during the day there were several outdoor seating areas where we could find shade, or just bask beside the pool. We agreed that the views from the BBQ, while turning meat and fish and supping Montepulciano wine, were the best we have ever had in a villa. The rolling hillsides topped with small villages are dwarfed by the mountains in the distance. John and Sue were excellent hosts. John turned up most days to clean the pool and make sure we had what we needed, and was very helpful when thinking about restaurants or areas to visit. I can really recommend this accommodation and this undiscovered, relatively ‘tourist-free’ area of Italy.

Summary: My family stayed here for a week. The house is truly a villa. It is 5 bedrooms with each bedroom having its own private bathroom. The views were amazing. When we come back to Abruzzo we will be booking this place for future use. Perfect place for large families or couples.

Summary: We stayed here for 10 days in July with a group of 16 people. What a magical place. The photos are beautiful but the reality is just much more beautiful. The house has everything you need and it is so nice to stay in the garden, on the terrace, .... Both young and old have enjoyed the house and the pool. And what a welcome by Sue: freshly baked cake, jam, corn flakes, milk and a bottle of prosecco and much more, because we arrived late. No two people are more hospitable than John and Sue. Thank you for making this a fantastic holiday together with your wonderful house. The view of the mountains made us dream and we will never forget ... an excellent base for nice trips ... Summary: We stayed one week in this lovely house with extremly nice views around us. We were 7 adults and 6 children and all of us enjoyd the stay. The house felt almost like new and it was very nice with seperate bath rooms to all bed rooms. Kichten was well equiped and easy to use which meant we could create perfect dinners at the nice outisde dining area. The owners Joe and Sue were very helpful and always there if we needed something. We had nothing to complain about during the whole week and the total experience were just GREAT.

Summary: Dear John and Sue, Thank you so much for a wonderful two weeks just spent at Il Frutteto. What a beautiful location, with stunning views and complete peace. We had a great time, 11 of us in total and spent our days lazing by the pool, wine tasting, visiting The Gran Sasso mountains, dancing at a beer festival, visiting the beaches and eating at various local restaurants. The house was perfectly set up for large groups and we spent lovely evenings sitting around the comfortable seating area playing cards and watching the sunsets. We were so well looked after by you both and had everything we needed to make it a really comfortable stay. It is a magical place in a totally unspoilt part of Italy. We loved the fact that there were no tourists and had great fun trying to speak Italian to the locals. We have so many happy memories from our holiday and really hope to visit you both (and Amber of course )again soon.
