Summary: Our family with two teens and one 9 year old stayed with another family for 4 nights. The staff was absolutely amazing, the venue could not be more stunning, and we enjoyed every bit of time we spent there. It’s also helpful that they have a driver on call that you can use for an additional fee. We highly recommend staying here again and it’s good for families and groups.

Summary: Villa Santai is as beautiful as it is in the pictures. There was plenty of room and privacy for all eight of us, but also lovely common areas for everyone to enjoy. The staff are wonderful, and did their best to accommodate us.

Summary: We visited as a family and friends group of 6 and loved every minute, despite the torrential rain! Putra, Wayan and all of the staff were just delightful and the setting was perfect. Even though we were 'rained in' for a lot of the time, we had an absolute ball; watching the monkeys in the trees, playing card games in the covered, open air living space and swimming in the pool. We had some magnificant meals at the villa also (make sure you try the suckling pig!) There were also some local warungs within walking distance that were great for meals also. We'll definitely be back.

Summary: Words can not even begin to express how magical this home is in Ubud. From our pickup by our chauffeur, Wayan to being greeted by the house manager, Made, to all the lovely women on staff (chefs, housekeeping)...everything was flawless! The staff made the entire vacation. A delicious breakfast awaited us every morning, catered to our individual tastes. The food was delicious. The staff took down our lunch/dinner requests each day we decided not to leave the property. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff catered to our every request. Housekeeping was impeccable. The staff worked around our schedule so as not to disturb our vacation. They took care of our outside laundry needs as well as reservations for meals off property. Wayan, the driver, was always prompt and on hand for any off property excursions. He was knowledgeable and made our transportation needs effortless. We can not thank him enough. The villa was also kind enough to book us a massage everyday of our stay. I highly recommend the services of the masseuse Putu who provided us with the most relaxing massages. Our time at the Villa Santai will remain in our hearts as one of the most magical, effortless vacations ever! We just wish that Bali was not such a long distance away from the US otherwise we would return every year!!! We can not say enough great things about the staff and the beautiful Villa Santai. Summary: First off, Wyn, the personal driver made our stay the best it could ever be. He was so accomodating, everyone was, but Wyn was the best. STRONGLY recommend asking for him when you go. Such a good soul. So the place, BEAUTIFUL! the view of the forest was remarkable. Like pictures cannot capture the beauty. the rooms were clean, service couldnt be better. Only issue I had was a couple of us did not have warm water for showers the entire stay. Others had scorching hot water. We managed, we just embraced the indigenous experience. I did not get bit by bugs the entire stay, a couple of my friends did but not I. I would suggest getting bug spray in Bali it works better than the ones from the states. Overall great experience.. i was sad when i had to leave. Would come back no question.

Summary: My family and I stayed at Villa Santai in early June of 2019 and from getting picked up at our hotel in Nusa Dua by Wayan to meeting Made in Ubud at the Villa, everyone made us feel very welcome. The Villa is in a beautiful setting among rice paddies not too far from Ubud village. Made was very available to help with anything we needed from booking massages at the Villa to arranging transport with Wayan wherever we wanted to go. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Santai and will book here on my next trip!

Summary: The villa's driver, Wayan promptly picked us up from our hotel in Nussa Dua for tranfser to Villa Santai. This service was complimentary. Wayan was friendly, answered many of our questions and was available for other transports throughout our three night stay. The villa is set on within an area of rice fields, but sits on the hillside of a rainforest with a running river below. The open air lounging, dining and swimming area sits on the top level with the four bedrooms located on the lower level. There is a bar, large dining table, two lounge type areas with sofa type seating, two separate "palapas", along with a nice bathroom on this top level. This is also where the infinity pool which overlooks the greenery of the rain forest, is located. The bedrooms are surrounded by open views, protected with screens that allow for the most inspiring views. At night, the staff, draws the curtains, turns down the beds and cools off your room with ceiling fan and air conditioning unit. The background to your sleep is the sound of the river flowing and various nature sounds like crickets humming and roosters crowing in the morning. The bathrooms feature either a shower or bathtub with double sinks and toilets. The staff were all very friendly, honest and eager to help us with whatever we requested. The food was good, with breakfast included in nightly rate, but other meals were charged according to the villas "menu" prices (reasonably priced). We did bring our own snacks and beverages which w purchased at the local supermarket, and this was not a problem. They do have all types of drinks available, but again, at menu pricing. We did have the most delicious fresh squeezed drinks every day with breakfast, and then again upon return from outings. These juices were also complimentary and a very nice touch, as were the cold cloths provided each time we returned from outings that allowed us a quick freshen-up. The "compound" was kept very clean and well supplied. We were also able to have some of our clothing laundered for a modest price. We had plenty of special touches that felt like we were staying in a nice resort. The villa had fresh flowers in all the rooms and common areas. Upon our arrival, there was special flower accents along the entire entry pathway along with some fresh hanging decorations, which really provided an authentic touch. We had plenty of fresh beach towels available every day, bottled water, and plenty of ice.

Summary: Villa Santai is an absolutely gorgeous place and I recommend it to anyone that wants to visit Ubud, Bali. Perfect for a family, a group of friends or a couple on a romantic getaway. The scenery of the forest in the backyard is breathtaking. You can even hear the sounds of the river valley. Going for a dip in the pool while looking at the view is truly relaxing. The staff at Villa Santai are very courteous and hospitable. Whatever I needed, whether it was booking a massage or making a reservation at a restaurant, they made sure to set it up for me. The food that the chef makes is delicious. It's very convenient that there is a driver provided by the Villa because it is a very short drive up the mountain from Ubud village. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy village and then have a peaceful evening back at the Villa where there is a kind staff waiting. There is a security guard that stays there at night so I always felt safe and secure. I liked staying there so much that I ended up extending my stay...I was not ready to leave! Don't be surprised if you feel that same when you're there. I highly recommend this gorgeous, serene place.
