Positive: We spent three unforgettable weeks in the beautiful Villa de Bruma. The location of the villa is simply breathtaking: just a few steps from the sea, it offers stunning views of the Atlantic and the picturesque valley of Faial da Terra. For the two of us, the house was perfectly sized. The cozy living room with an open kitchen, the spacious bedroom, and the large bathroom provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is well-equipped to easily prepare meals, and the bedroom features a large, comfortable bed. The pleasantly firm mattress and the soothing sound of the nearby stream made it easy to fall asleep. The modern bathroom is equipped with a generous shower, adding to the comfort of the stay. We were particularly impressed by the villa’s two highlights: The large rooftop terrace with seating, a lounge chair, and a grill is perfect for relaxing, while the hot tub, located slightly higher up the hill, is a luxurious feature, especially enjoyable on cooler days. The surrounding area offers everything you need for everyday life. There is a small supermarket in the village and two snack bars. Additionally, the starting point of the hike to the impressive Salto do Prego waterfall is just a short walk away. The drive to the airport takes about 90 minutes, making Villa de Bruma ideal for those seeking tranquility and a retreat in nature. Although the house doesn’t have a washing machine, the very friendly housekeeper offers a laundry service, which we greatly appreciated. Our clothes were returned quickly and perfectly cleaned. In our opinion, Villa de Bruma is the ideal holiday accommodation for couples or solo travelers who are already familiar with São Miguel and wish to enjoy the eastern part of the island in peace. Our host Bruno was always a pleasure to interact with. He checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed and was always available for assistance. Thank you, Bruno, for this wonderful stay!

Negative: An electric kettle and a washing machine would have made the house’s amenities even more perfect, further enhancing our stay.

Positive: Everything! Where to start? The location at the of the world? The magnificent view from the house, terrace and even while having a bubble bath in the hot tub? The insuperable comfort of the really beautiful house, the equipped kitchen and living area with TV, the bedroom with big wardrobe, huge windows with views, gorgeous bathroom? Being surrounded by the pristine wildness of the Faial da Terra protected area with the ocean waves singing for me? The beauty of the tiny sleepy village with the “Ribeira” calmly flowing through it with colourful ducks quacking in the morning and evening? The drive through a Jurassic Park-like winding road from Furnas and Povoacao and then on to Nordeste? And then the immense kindness of Bruno, the owner, who went an extra mile to make sure that I had everything I needed to feel at home and his flexibility with my booking. I will never forget his gentle soul! I left a piece of my heart in Faial da Terra. And I’m still in Sao Miguel, in another area now in order to explore the west side, so yes I can tell you that there is a huge difference between Faial and other places! Thank you Bruno!

Positive: I am very pleased with my stay! First of all, it is necessary to note the outstanding location: beautiful view and you can hear the sea just by opening the window, car may be parked just near the house. Another advantage is that the house is VERY WELL equipped, including great terrace with barbecue area and even a jacuzzi! The only thing missing is a washing machine, but it is necessary only if you stay for more than a week, i guess. The owner is very hospitable. Due to a flight delay, I have arrived to Faial da Terra after 00:00, but despite that I was able to check-in without any problem! Also, the owner was always in touch to answer my questions. I stayed 4 days in October. The price was very attractive, but it will probably be higher during the high season... There is a Wi-fi available, but i was not using it, because i have enough internet via 4G.

Negative: I have not revealed any worth mentioning problems. It may be a good idea to add a washing machine, which will be useful for long stays and/or families. And it would be nice to have airtight containers in the kitchen to take food with you for hiking in the mountains.

Summary: Natural relaxing peace and modern accommodation in same place.
