Positive: The location and the helpful desk clerk who showed us where to park down the street.

Negative: Terrible breakfast, food was bad and lousy buffet options, no coffee, ran out of watermelon. Woke to a cockroach in my room 😡 Hotel needs a deep cleaning and new carpets. Wifi didn't work.

Negative: Friendliness of reception staff. For some unexplicable reason, they did not charge both reserved nights but only one. We had to buy and get a new room key as they always check you out each day. Very weird, no explanation offered.

Positive: The Manager is wonderful. we connected through WeChat so that he could share information and locations of everything I needed. Due to renovations of the restaurant there was no meals but the area is central to excellent eating choices. I will stay here always if I come back to Xining to stay. The staff but particularly the Manager was fantastic!

Negative: nothing!

Positive: The room is very clean, but you can tell that it has not “ aged” well, though am sure that the discoloration in the shower is not from the mold. I wish there were a fridge in the room so I could use to store some food. And man, I wish there were packs of Nestle instant coffee in the room instead of green tea. However, there is a cafe in the Han Ting a few steps away ( though many steps away from my bed in Vienna). The coffee there is decent and next time, if there is a next visit to XN, that’s where I am going to stay.
