Positive: Neo was the most hospitable host! He did everything he could to make my stay comfortable and it was fun getting to chat with him. Not to mention, he is an amazing cook!! The homestay was close to the Kumano Kodo trail and in a quiet, peaceful area. The building was recently renovated, very clean and the bed was so comfortable. This has been my favorite stay in Japan so far :)

Positive: Vegestay was really clean, well decorated with a nice selection of furniture, and the food (dinner, breakfast, and our packed lunch for the next day) was amazing! Our host was lovely, relaxed, and an excellent cook. The beds/futons were really comfy. The surroundings are peaceful and it was close to the day 2 end point on the Kumano Kodo.

Positive: The location is good in that it takes a couple of Kilometres off the next day's walk to Hongu. Pretty good value when you factor in the meals and that Neo is a very good cook.

Positive: Neo has done an amazing transformation to create a wonderful accommodation. Comfortable, clean, and wonderful food - I am coeliac so I have to eat gluten free, and Neo was able to cater for me with such kindness.

Positive: We were a group of seven hikers and had booked all three rooms at Vegestay, but we still needed an extra room for one couple. The host, Neo, was incredibly helpful—he personally called nearby hotels and found a room for us! Neo speaks very good English and he is a very hardworking host . Neo does everything to run this homestay, from managing bookings to cleaning and cooking. He prepared wonderful meals ( breakfast and dinner) for us and packed delicious sandwiches for lunch. We were completely full and satisfied after every meal. The homestay is brand new, and the twin rooms are very clean and spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable, making it easy to rest after long hikes. There are also two washing machines and a dryer available for guests to use free of charge, which was very convenient. We would definitely recommend Neo’s place to our hiking friends!
