Summary: Wonderful staff and a fantastic pool. The location is amazing with view over the jungle with Mayan ruins visible in the distance. The food is great home cooked and good for the kids too. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The front of the hotel needs a lick of paint but when you consider all of the other great things about this hotel it gets top marks from us. The staff were attentive and the grounds were pretty - access to the ruins is very easy and close. The beds were comfortable, the showers good and the air conditioning worked well. The only thing I would suggest is putting some furniture on the balcony for us although we had chairs inside to pull outside. The views are spectacular and to have some nice lounge chairs on the balcony would have been perfect.

Summary: Place is clean and largely quiet with large rooms, nice balconies and a lovely pool area. But it screws up the small things. The toilet in my room required several flushes, the sink faucet needed an aerator, and there were no chairs or hammocks (or other appropriate furniture) for the balcony. But the biggest problem is the restaurant. I've had better cooking in a middle school cafeteria. As there isn't a lot else open after 5 pm in the area, you're stuck with bad food.
