Positive: The location is great for those visiting Uxmal ruins, from our room we could even see the tops of the pyramids poking out above the jungle canopy. The pool and lounge area is fantastic and it is convenient to have a restaurant in the basement of the hotel. I think the hotel is good value for the money.

Negative: Unfortunately, during our stay a thunderstorm caused a power outage in the area. This outage lasted about 24 hours and meant no A/C, no lights, and no running water. Obviously, the outage is beyond the hotel's control and this happens in Mexico. However, the hotel could have had backup generators (which the other big hotels in Uxmal have). The hotel also could have provided flashlights for the dark rooms, could have brought up more water for flushing toilets or brushing teeth, or even just provided some coupons for the restaurant or discount on the stay. Ultimately, I don't think the hotel particularly cared about the guest experience during this 24 hour period and my review rating reflects that.

Positive: Have been here before and will do so again in the future—-great access to Uxmal and the “three sisters”- kabah, sayil and labna! All staff were spot on and stayed three nights. Nearly Muna is great as well!!

Negative: Minor-but this visit-only one size towels-face cloth or hand towel would have been handy.

Positive: For the price the breakfast was exceptional. I had fruit with orange drink followed by scrambled eggs with bacon with toast

Negative: There was not much not to like

Summary: I was surprised by the size and spaciousness of the room and the size and ambiance of the pool area.
