Summary: Beautiful property! The house is a bit remote (which we loved) but within 30 minutes of Hood River. Thank you for a great stay!

Summary: Within easy driving distance of Hood River or Portland, this was a quiet getaway for a weekend to relax and refocus the mind. The house is very well-appointed, with a coffee maker that was welcome in the chilly mornings and the creek going by for the warmer afternoons (living room gets warm, so outside walk after lunch is highly recommended). I think I heard the rumble of an airplane going by, but other than that, there were only nature sounds!

Summary: I stayed with a friend for 3 nights in April. We saw elk, wood ducks, and other brightly colored varieties of ducks. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was well-stocked. We enjoyed our time so much that we canceled a planned outing in order to enjoy the property more. Though the weather was lovely during our stay, it would have been just as enjoyable in the rain or cold because the big picture windows are perfectly situated. And to top it off, the host is congenial and communicative (though not overly so). Very pleased with our stay!

Summary: Spent 2+ weeks here. Our 7 y.o. grandson had his first fishing experience in the river. We loved the quiet, solitude, wildlife, dark skies and the wonderful murmur of Little White Salmon river in the background. The house had plenty of room for the 5 of us on weekends, and during the quiet weekdays it was nice to stretch out. It is about a 25 minute drive into the city of White Salmon. There's a local grocery store there that will have pretty much everything you need, and after shopping have lunch at the bakery which has wonderful sandwiches. We didn't want to leave! Brent is a wonderful host, he was great for suggesting local activities and filling us in on the history of Willard.
