Elaionas Nikou is a beautiful olive grove estate, in the embrace of the amazing Gera Gulf at the South-eastern part of Lesvos island. A shelter of harmony and peacefulness, at the SEAFRONT of the crystal clear waters of the gulf. Amongst the olive trees, the fruit trees and the flowers, the autonomous traditional stone-built residences of the resort are placed amphitheatre for privacy with stunning views of the gulf. Each house has its own style and it is decorated with respect to the island's traditions and architecture with some exceptional antiques of the family, while at the same time provide all the comforts of modern living. The resort has its own 'private' beaches for swimming and relaxation under the trees. Two different types of residences are offered:1bedroom/1bathroom (55m2), 2bedrooms/2bathrooms (72m2), all with fully equipped kitchen and large living room with fireplace. Their huge verandas offer majestic views.
Elaionas in Greek means Olive Grove. The farm is certified organic and produces high quality olive oil. Many of the olive trees are over 200 years old and are themselves artistic natural sculptures.
In the estate there are also almond, fig, apricot, quince and other fruit trees, that give special flavour to olive oil.
Walking around, in the farm, you will be fascinated by the smell of wild herbs like oregano, thyme, rosemary, etc.. In the gardens of the houses we have planted verbena, sage, mint, marjoram, peppermint, basil , etc.. We also have organic vegetable garden for our use and for our customers. So living in the nature and protacting the environment is our way of life.
Here famous artists have been entertained, such as the painter Yannis Tsarouchis, the Nobel price winner for literature Odysseus Elytis, the painter critic Teriant, while others have placed on canvas the beauty of the area such as Manolis Kaligiannis, Agathe Bunz and Oreste Kanellis.
Alexis and Katerina Nikou, the owners, made their life dream come true in this project with love, importance to the detail and soul. The propensity of Alexis to gastronomy and good life will be an pleasant surprise to you during your stay here.
The complex has a waste water treatment plant, from which we water the flowers. All the lamps are energy saving. Hot water in every house from the solar system. We use drip irrigation system for saving water. In the fireplaces we use wood from the pruning of the trees .

We will be going back in 2016 and will be glad to see Alexis again, the villa is well equipped and furnished, very clean and tidy, clean sheets and towels every other day nothing was to much trouble for Alexis or our maid, she was great ! Summary: We stayed 2 weeks at Elayonas Nikou, a perfect description for its wonderful location between the olive trees. we choose this location based on the description of this HomeAway page, but the reality was even beyond expectations. Upon receipt, we were greeted by the owner Alexis and he took al the time to familarise us not only with the villa, but also as almost our tour guide with all information, where to shop, and places to visit. We did not have to go for shopping immediately, there was enough in the fridge, bread and butter and of course olive oil and a welcome drink for the first 24 hours. Two weeks was just enough to explore in a rithme of once per 2 days the entire island and in between we enjoyed the beach, all facilties including places to sit in the shade under a beuatifull tree or enjoy the water of Gera's Bay, which had for us Dutch people already an acceptable temperature of 20 degrees early May. The only negative point was that Alexis recommended a pottery shop in Mandamados, which we twice tried to visit, but turned out to be closed both times that we went, but Alexis even gave us as a memory one of the nice fishes that may be even visible in one of the photo's here. So it is clear that there is no doubt we will recommend this house to everybody. We made a nice photobook which we will use not only for recommendation but also for ourselves to always remember this perfect vacation at this beautiful location. Thanks Alexis for everything, including the cake we found in our room after one of our trips! Erik and Joke

Summary: We stayed in the 55sqm villa for one week in June 2014. The place ticked all the boxes for us: super-clean, comfortable, traditional, quiet, close to water. What came as a huge bonus was Alexis' knowledge of the island and his great tips what to see, what to do and where to eat. The taverna that's just some 15 min walk from the villa has exceptional food (best tzatziki we've had in Greece) and it's also located right by the water. The location of the villa is superb:olive grove gives everybody privacy and you can see the gulf while having your breakfast/lunch/dinner on the terrace. There are traditional Greek thermal baths about 7 minute drive from the villa - amazing for any back pains or stress. The villa itself is very clean and comfortable. There is A/C, wi-fi, TV, full bath and fully equipped kitchen. Upon arrival there was olive oil (produced by Alexis), bread, butter, eggs, coffee and other necessities waiting for us, which was really helpful as we arrived late and didn't have to rush to the shops first thing in the morning. All we can say is that we had one of the best holidays ever and can't wait to go back next year. Last but not least, we used Sixt car rental and ended up with a crappy, old Daewoo, so if you are renting a car you'll be better off with Alexis' recommendation, which we will definitely do next time we go.

Summary: The property was wonderful, excellent facilities - very clean (and regularly cleaned and fresh bedding and towels provided throughout our stay) the owner has decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It has a wonderful large, secluded terrace with views of the gulf (2 minute walk to the private beaches belonging to the estate) and set in an olive grove with some lovely landscaping. The sea was clean and clear and considering the time of year not too cold! The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly, without being overbearing. We arrived to a wonderful reception within the property of breakfast items, fresh coffee, olive oil from the estate – ideal as we arrived on the first flight of the day from Athens. They both made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They have an extensive knowledge of the island and things to do, although we found it so relaxing at the accommodation that we spent many days just enjoying sitting on our terrace, enjoying the views, the peace and quiet, reading and cooking with the wonderful local foods. The local Greek restaurant is walking distance with good food (excellent fish) - for anything else you will need a hire car. Mytilini is then only 10 minutes away with its cafes, shopping and good restaurants. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Both my partner and I have travelled extensively throughout our lives, and this is one of the few and far between places that we want to go back to as soon as we can. Our holiday here was perfect.

Summary: We was 16 days in July . Wonderful place ! If you looking for nature, peace, relax, you want to avoid 'tourist factory' this is place for you. Alexis is excellent host, ' la classe', He produces olive oil et honey, delicious !! If you want good advices ask Alexis. Little home is clean and nice , there is also little beach , which is almost private , with beautiful sunset . I find this place really specialy, thank you to share it with us.

Summary: A good, clean, simple, well-maintained little one-bedroomed house (55m2), private but not isolated, supported by the delightful Katerina and Alexis, who know everything there is to know about the island. There is even a proper bath, and a proper hair-dryer. But you must hire a car. The local taverna is a two minute drive and is good, the city of Mytilini about 10 minutes drive. The estate is essentially an olive grove, with ? five tasteful and well separated stone holiday cottages. There is a clean shingle beach shared with the other houses on the estate, but usually empty, with good safe swimming and magnificent views across the Gulf. Generally, can't think of anything to complain about - oh yes, the kitchen lacked a decent chopping board. Otherwise, perfect. Highly recommended.

Summary: Much better and more luxious Than expected. Alexis is very familiar with the Island and therefore a excellent guide, we got many good tips on where to go and what to see. The taverna close by is very cousy and has good greek food. The place has 2 very friendly dogs, but they are only there if you show Them interest. Not an irritation :-) we stayed for 10 days and will def. Come back and recommend the place to anyone.

Summary: I've just returned from spending a month here. The accommodation was entirely adequate. It was comfortable, clean, suitably furnished and private. It was just as described on the website. The gardens and beach front were idyllic. The warmth of welcome from the owner, his charming wife and delightful dog (Drulis!) made my stay entirely memorable for all the right reasons. They told me about places to visit and to eat that no one but a local would be likely to find. Each piece of advice and suggestion was absolutely right. I am impatient to return. Summary: The eleaionas tou Nikou its a unique place in his kind. We have never felt uncomfortable or extraneous and from at once have perceived the attention in the details, the taste and the culture these people have put in practice building these pleasant houses. We have felt protected by the "silence" of the nature, the quiet of the gera's Gulf , the smile and the fairly good Niko's advices We have found a space where the elegance of the essential one reigns Where one throws the superfluous away to do space to himself.
