Positive: Beautifully restored barn in a beautiful setting. The hosts were welcoming and available if needed but also unobtrusive, which was perfect for us. Clean and comfortable and a short distance from a great pub, Dartmoor and a bus stop that has hourly buses into Tavistock and Okehampton. One of the best holiday rentals we have stayed at and we will definitely be regular visitors in future.

Negative: We liked everything but dog owners be aware that there are free range chickens in the garden so dogs need to be supervised at all times.

Positive: The barn was very clean & had everything you needed. Quirky decor but generally comfotable & welcoming. The garden area was particularly lovely. Very peaceful & private with comfortable outdoor seating. Convenient to be able to park off the village Street. Owners who live next door are extremely welcoming & helpful

Negative: We found the bed area a little cramped in the alcove under the mezzanine floor & dark & the bed a little uncomfortable. It could have done with a king size quilt rather than a double to give better coverage.

Positive: Great location in a pretty village, surrounded by walks for all abilities. Perfect base for exploring the area, seaside, moorlands, woods and forests, granite way. Townend Barn is a home from home with lovely hosts just on the doorstep for help and advice. Perfect stay in Lydford.
