Positive: It was quirky and I liked the older style room with traditional futon bedding.

Negative: It was tired and in need of updating. There was terrible smell in the foyer/reception area. There was nowhere to sit and have a drink apart from a dingy bar buried deep at the back of the first floor. It looked like there had been no one there since the 70s!

Summary: One for the locals. Quirky and old.

Positive: The property itself is old and in need of repair or rebuilding. The futons are small and thin, and the pillows are inadequate. However, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Also, the evening dance, magic and comedy show performed by three octogenarian ladies and the younger staff is extremely entertaining. The hot spring is nice too.

Negative: The facilities and bedding need to be renewed.

Summary: Good entertainment and hospitality compensate for old facilities.
