Positive: The staff. What's most important with places such as the Tollemache Arms is the service from the staff who were all very welcoming, professional and made me feel happy to be there. Service with a smile in every sense of the word!

Positive: The service and the food were excellent. The building had loads of character and was very picturesque. Parking was good and secure.

Negative: No blackout blinds, so I was woken at 4am with a very bright room. The bathroom was large but it had the smallest shower cubicle I have ever seen. I had to turn sideways just to get in. No chance to wash anything lower than waist. The water took forever to get hot and was a dribble, anyone with long hair would take forever to rinse it, luckily I have short hair. I had to grovel behind the bedside cabinet to find a power outlet so I could charge my phone by the side of my bed.

Summary: Great service and food but bathroom needs a bigger and more powerful shower

Positive: Excellent first impression of Tracy the landlady who was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Wifi was good. Tea and coffee were available. The restaurant and bar were very busy on the friday night I stayed there. The food was good value - thurs / fri special @ £10.

Negative: I arrived before 17.30 and had to ring to seek entrance to the hotel. Until then I sat on the street waiting.Early evening the place was very busy with drinkers and diners. The landlady did very well to keep on top of things but looked as though some help would have been appreciated. Restaurant meals were served by a young waiter who didn't take food orders. Breakfast did not start the following morning until 9.00am. I ordered one but left before 9.00am as to wait for it would have wasted too much of my morning .Mattress and pillows were very soft

Positive: I stayed for one night in room 3. This was very comfortable and quiet. Had a really nice rump steam for dinner, 16 oz which was too much for me to finish as it was huge. Had a very good cooked breakfast early Sunday morning at 9 because I had to be away for a model flying competition.

Negative: Nothing really. Pity that there weren't many others dining saturday evening. Strange because it's a very nice place to come and have a drink and a meal.
