Positive: There restaurants and convenience stores around. You can change some currencies in the hotel much better rate than the airport. Staff was nice helped us change the room after check in. Microwave is available in the room. There is complementary teas, softdrinks and Japanese crackers in the minibar/fridge.

Negative: In general I find the review scores misleading. It is an ok hotel. However the price is not justified. Even with the discount of around 60% on booking.com I still felt like it was too much for what it was. (Maybe that's just a sales strategy?) The hotel has a dark feel and especially the first room was dusty. However after negotiating to move to another room it was better. You get the impression that this hotel was once modern but had suffered with time. When i go to Taipei again I probably choose a different hotel.

Negative: The room overall wasn't bad but for the price it wasn't worth it. We had a nice bath tub but had to run the water a few times with the jets to clean out the old water. Also the lighting in the room was really bad. We couldn't get it bright enough for comfortable reading without a little eye strain. The tv was a mess, it would randomly turn off and disconnect. Eventually we just gave up on the cable television and connected it to our phone for Apple TV but then it would randomly stop working. And I would have to re-connect. Breakfast was ok but lacked a good variety. It mostly featured oily foods with a small fruit and bread selection.

Summary: It was a nice room but fell short for the price.
