Our neighbors appreciate that this lovely cul-de-sac is quiet and serene, and we enforce a very strict NO PARTIES RULE. The Sunshine House is a space for gathering, connecting and spending time with loved ones. Originally built in 1939 as a Dairy Farm, this house is incredibly unique. You will find sunshine decor and bright colors, meant to spark joy and happiness. Plus a sauna on the lower level for all guests to use. Book for a little getaway or retreat w/ friends. Great hiking spots nearby!
Unique one of a kind home on wooded hilltop setting on 1.5 acres with UP North feel but minutes from downtown Milford. Living room with vaulted ceilings features a natural stone fireplace built with stones harvested from the property. Gorgeous wide plank reclaimed barn wood floors flow throughout the main level. Custom kitchen cabinets, quartzite countertops and subway tile backsplash enhance the kitchen which has a lovely nook with a panoramic view of the wooded yard. Built-in display cabinet and diamond shape window grace the dining room.
The spacious primary bedroom, located on the second floor, has tree top views from every window, wood floors and a huge walk through closet. There's a queen bed in this space and an additional daybed for sleeping or lounging.
A second bedroom on this floor offers a space with a generous closet, bunk beds and a queen bed. There's also a large, cozy roll out mat in the upper bedroom for reading and relaxing.
The upper level has a full bath, featuring an oversized walk-in shower and vanity. It's really lovely!
The walkout lower level includes a living room, desk, sauna, beverage kitchen w/ mini fridge and sink (stocked with coffee, tea and sparkling water), updated full bath w/ tub, and washer/dryer.
There is ONE bedroom on the lower level w/ 2 double beds (next to the beverage kitchen w/ immediate access to the walk out porch). This bedroom has a small closet.
Convenient commute to I-96, close to shopping and dining in downtown Milford, and minutes away from Kensington Metro Park where you can hike, bike, fish, golf and swim. This property has it all!

Summary: We stayed at The Sunshine House for a bachelorette getaway weekend. It was magnificent. The house was beautiful and comfortable. There were plenty of room and seats for everyone to be comfortable. Alicia was a wonderful host, and the house came with some many amenities that made our stay great. The girls and I talked about renting this again for another girls' weekend in the future. Very wonderful!

Summary: I stayed at sunshine house for a few nights with the girls in my bridal party. My wedding was local so it was nice to have a place where we could be together to enjoy company and get ready for the ceremony. My girls were from out of town so it really did give a true Michigan up north feel! Rooms were cozy, all amenities were perfect and communication with homeowner was quick and helpful! Definitely recommend.

Summary: Relaxing, cozy, charming and welcoming are just a couple of words I can say to express our stay at the Sunshine House! With this property being so close to downtown Milford, it was a perfect quick getaway for me and my boyfriend. We had really good burgers at a restaurant called the Bar but before that we had a couple of crafted beers at the Rivers Edge Brewery across the street. All very casual but quality of the food and beverages was nowhere near sub-par. Being that it is February and cold we were very excited to use the fireplace and sauna. There was a good variety of games to play so we first set up shop fireside and relaxed. Soon after we ventured to the yoga room try out the sauna which was amazing! The bedrooms were all so well decorated, each had its own personality, and the master is so spacious! Our bed was so very comfortable which led to a great night's sleep. The property is surrounded by trees so the view in the morning was beautiful with the snow-covered branches. I can just imagine this view being beautiful in each season! There really was nothing we were in need of because everything was so well prepared for guests. Enough towels, soaps (they smelled heavenly), two beverage stations, even eggs and bread for us to make breakfast with. Overall, we were so pleased and would recommend others to experience this property for themselves. This was our first stay at the Sunshine House but not our last!
