Summary: This is a wonderful hotel, the facilities are great with a nice pool, gym, sauna and stream room all included in your stay. The breakfast is fantastic with a range of really quality options to choose from. The air conditioned rooms were an absolute must in the recent heatwave and meant you could get a great night's sleep. My biggest compliments have to go to the staff though, I interacted with so many of them throughout my stay and they were all so friendly and helpful which is such a rarity, so full credit to them, especially Keira at breakfast who was amazing. I already can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Summary: Overall we had a lovely stay. Only complaint was that we were cold in the evenings…it was less than 10° outside and the bar had air-conditioning on! We got really cold. The restaurant was also cold, so we only ate there the first night. The food was good, spoilt only by my poached eggs being cool the first day, and when I asked for them to be hot the second morning, they were only just warm! Otherwise a lovely breakfast. Shower very good, and plenty of hot water for baths to warm us up!

Summary: Hotel is quite nice for an old place but could do with a bit of TLC and some modernisation. However, the room was clean and comfortable (apart from the pillows which were like flagstones 😖) and there’s plenty of parking space. I got an attic style room and if I had a pound for every time I cracked my head on a ceiling beam, I’d have about £17 by now. The WiFi is poor and slow in room 302 but gets a bit faster when you’re in the bar area 🤔. The gym facilities were pretty good and the pool looked good too. I work all over the country, usually staying in 2/3 different hotels per week, and this one achieved the UK record for the most expensive pint of soda & lime I ever encountered 😳 £6.30!!! What a rip off!!! I don’t mind paying that (or quite often more than that) for a pint of lager, but for soda water and a splash of lime cordial …. that takes the biscuit … so much so that they didn’t get another penny out of me during my stay. I’d normally stay in the hotel for dinner and a few evening drinks but any establishment will only rip me off once, so I went out to spend my (company expenses) money elsewhere instead 👍 Needless to say there will be no return visit from me.
