Summary:
Just 2 hours from Baltimore and DC, The Sanctuary is a perfect weekend mountain escape to get away from it all and connect with nature while still enjoying some luxury amenities. This place is for adventurous people who are seeking sanctuary from the mundane day-to-day or the hustle and bustle of life. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin situated on 6+ acres in the mountains outside Berkeley Springs, WV. It includes spacious outdoor living space, a hot tub, sauna, grill and a separate bathhouse.
The Space:
The cabin includes a studio open space concept with queen sized bed, sitting area, wood burning stove and kitchen. The back deck wraps around 3 sides of the cabin and includes a covered porch with outdoor couches and a gas fire pit table, area for the grill, additional seating areas and the hot tub. The bathhouse is just a short walk on a stone path that includes a rain shower with views of the woods, toilet and sink. The outdoor space includes a stone walled area with a firepit, seating and picnic table, two additional fire pit areas, and a hammock next to the book exchange library. The barrel sauna is located adjacent to the bathhouse and the outdoor shower is on the walkway between the bathhouse and utility shed.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to most of the property except the utility shed and crawl spaces below the cabin and bathhouse which are used for storage and are locked
The Neighborhood:
There are several cabins and houses in this community. The neighbors are very particular about their property and do not appreciate trespassing.
Getting Around:
We have plenty of parking in the circular driveway. You definitely need a vehicle to travel in and out. A 4 wheel drive vehicle with snow chains available is highly recommended in winter in case it snows.
Other Things to Note:
•Booking price includes property damage protection fee to cover minor damages done to the property.
•Property damage protection is included for any damages, subject to exclusions and limitations that occur to the premises during your rental period. Any damage or accident that is not covered under the policy will be the responsibility of the guest. Damage amounts in excess of damage insurance will be charged to the guest.
•Prior to checking in, primary/main guests must complete the online pre-arrival via Charge Automation. This requirement is important for us to gather your travel-related information and ensure that you are well-informed of our property rental terms and conditions. There is an additional fee of $75, per pet, if you are bringing your pet. We do offer early check-in and late check-out. However, this is conditional based on whether or not we can prepare your property in time for your arrival. There's also a $75 fee for these services.

Summary: From the start this has been the easiest booking and stay. Communication was excellent. The cabin was out of the way but easy to get to. Clean and warm. Hot tub was in tip top shape and the grill was immaculate. The bed was super comfy and the all around feel of the place was cozy. Keep in mind the bathroom is not in the house but after it sinks in it’s no biggie and quote charming. Lovey getaway.

Summary: My fiance and I loved our stay in this luxurious cabin thats off the beaten path. The owners truly thought of every small touch. Having no TV was different, but nice to disconnect a little. Our favorite part was the hot tub and wood stove. The bathhouse was warm and spacious. Also, loved Charlottes Cafe for breakfast.

Summary: This was a birthday getaway for my boyfriend and I, so we could really relax. I had initially asked the host a few questions, which they responded quickly and accurately. When we pulled up to the property, it was nothing short of what was promised in the pictures. Just absolutely stunning and romantic! The hosts literally thought of everything. The cabin and bathhouse were spotless! The hot tub was incredible to sit in and watch the stars. We did use the oven and grill, the grill was basically brand new, and the oven was clean as well. The shower is enormous, and if it wasn't cold outside, you can actually open the sliding glass door to shower in nature. It's so secluded and quiet. Exactly what we both needed, while being a much more upscale cabin than either of us have stayed at. Don't pass this one by, I am so glad we didn't! We will absolutely be back.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay. We spent a long weekend there and it was so great to disconnect from electronics and the busyness of life and just relax. The hot tub and sauna were fun luxuries to enjoy during our stay. The house was decorated so nicely and had everything you needed to cozy up and read, nap, cook meals. We look forward to returning again soon!

Summary: The Sanctuary was everything I hoped for and MORE! It's a gorgeously renovated cabin tucked away in the hills of WV. The property manager was extremely helpful in providing detailed instructions for travel, how to operate all of the amenities, and checked in with me during my stay! There wasn't a single detail left untouched from the customized coasters to the split firewood left in the cabin. This is a perfect place to go, unwind, and disconnect from the world. It is also pet friendly, so I traveled with my pup, Penny, who LOVED the endless hiking trails and swimming in the nearby river. We will definitely be back to The Sanctuary as it's so perfectly named. Thanks again, PMI! It was an incredible weekend getaway.

Summary: Beautiful, secluded stay for the weekend! The property sits on top of a hill in a private area. The view is beautiful. We spent most evenings having cocktails on the porch in the Adirondack chairs enjoying the view. Quaint. Quiet. Beautiful touches throughout the cabin. The bath house was outstanding. Communication with the host was quick and informative. Such a fun, relaxing weekend! Thank you so much!
