Summary: Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta Kauai. It's connected to a Marriott resort, so there are a lot of restaurants and different spaces in which to relax. Our room was updated and clean, though they only provide in-room services every two days. As a vegetarian, there were limited options and our best meals were off the resort. We traveled all over the coastline to many beaches and I'm glad we did. The beach at the resort is fine, but there are a lot better ones elsewhere. The pool is pretty empty early in the mornings and then later in the evenings and I swam laps and relaxed during those times.

Summary: Great stay. Had a 2 hr checking in delay but we were able to use the resort facilities so we headed to the beach. Also, we were able to get a 2 hr delay on check out plus we we invited to use the resort facilities even after room checkout. So we hung out at the pool and grabbed some refreshing drinks. The room was spacious and clean. The resort area was beautiful and included the largest swimming pool in Hawaii as well as a nice swimming beach.

Summary: Lovely property with excellent Japanese restaurant and within walking distance to Duke’s restaurant. Another restaurant on the property has very good American dishes. Housekeeping only cleans rooms every other day. It is a spacious property and you will need a bellboy to help get luggage from the front entrance to your room if you have kids or seniors in your party.

Summary: Pool area, beach access, island location, and on site bars/eateries were very good. The initial contact upon arrival was lackluster and confusing. Arrivals from busses or those using valet/bell services were given direction and warmly met. We parked and walked in. After being ignored for a few moments we asked a few people who were all trying to avoid contact via phones or conversation with other employees directions to check-in. They generally waived us down the escalators which clearly said no baggage. Overall we loved out stay but some warmer welcome and general guidence from someone not asking to earn a tip would be nice, or at least signage with some direction.

Summary: The resort is beautiful. BUT... the rooms.... just okay. And what the heck is up with the toilets? Soooo loud when you flush them. Lights in the bathroom would be better if the shower area and sink area could be controlled separately. Door from room to sink area would be appreciated so if you turn on light in sink area the bedroom area is not illuminated also.
