Summary: Such a cute house, from the soft beds for humans and dog, to gas fireplace and a bottle of wine in the fridge. We walked the dog around the neighborhood and into Irvington to The Local. Had a great meal at Tides Inn, explored York River and Belle Isle state parks where we saw bald eagles. Had some cold days and warmer days - December is a great time to visit Northern Neck. Need more time to check out the antique malls.

Summary: My sister, nephew and I stayed at The Rose Retreat over Fourth of July while visiting extended family in the area. The cottage was perfect for the three of us and the location can’t be beat. The decor is lovely and we really enjoyed sitting on the screened porch. We didn’t cook any meals besides breakfast but the kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to find everything. Tara communicated well and even left us a thoughtful welcome tray and bottle of rose. I will definitely consider staying at The Rose Retreat again!
