Positive: Clean and comfortable..even Murphy bed was very comfortable…pool was a bonus..I recommend having it heated ahead of time

Negative: Only thing missing was some foil and some baggies

Positive: No breakfast was served, and restaurants were closed. We had to go to a grocery store in Fortuna to get food for dinner the first night (Memorial Day).

Negative: Day 2 of our stay there were still no restaurants open. We went to the local Indian Casino for dinner, and food was just ok.

Summary: Our trip to Ferndale was a bust with restaurants closed and very few shops open.

Positive: it was so perfect… Just the right size for our small family of four, absolutely beautiful and cozy, but not so precious that we didn’t feel comfortable.

Negative: The only complaint that I have is that 10 o’clock is a little bit early for check out, but we did ask for a little extra time, and they accommodated :-)

Positive: It was very strange to never see a soul the whole time! From check in to check out, all was done with instructions on our phone. Granddaughter loved just opening the kitchen door into the enclosed swimming pool. That was fun! Upon arriving at your parking spot, the approach is very under-whelming; like you are parking in someone's place. (Take particular note of the instructions to park where the white rock is!) HOWEVER, once inside the white gate, you are in your own private oasis. Once inside, the "secret garden" feel was so nice.

Negative: Having the ability to heat the pool was fun. HOWEVER folks need to know that it is $80 PER DAY to have the pool heated. Our group had a medical need for the heat, but we just couldn't justify the expense. The price quoted is very fair and affordable. However, the added on fees brought the over-all cost up a bit more than we were expecting.

Summary: We had a very enjoyable 2 nights there. Will do it again sometime.
