Positive: The Mistley Thorn is in an excellent quite location overlooking the water and a very pleasant walk into Manningtree town. The breakfast as part of the price was very good with lots of choice using local produce and service was exemplary. The room was nice and large with a lovely view overlooking the bay and bathroom facilities can't be faulted.

Summary: We only stayed one night visiting friends, but he hotel has made sure we'll return for a longer stay
