Negative: Room was totally illuminated at night from outside globe lights No room darkening shades ….i mentioned to front desk personnel Stated will have maintenance check on timer next 2 nights lights still on till 6am ….was told I would get credited $25 a day rebate it never was processed through . Also during day cleaning / laundry staff slamming doors going in and out so bad walls would shake . Went on all day long For an upscale Inn showed no supervision or proper staff training . First negative review I have ever posted

Positive: We so enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Gibson Inn.There are many architectural features to enjoy! Our room was a mix of vintage/modern and I enjoyed wandering the halls and seeing the ornamental details. The pool area was inviting but the weather didn’t cooperate so we rode the complementary bikes through the historic neighborhood which was so relaxing! We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

Positive: Excellent setting; clearly there's attention to detail.

Negative: There was no milk in the restaurant (waitress said it was all bad) when I had breakfast; so my buttered waffle with syrup wasn't the greatest. I had selected the $40 breakfast option, but my wife ended up sleeping in (good for her!). The net of is that the $40 was only for one breakfast, and my charge was $23 or so. I asked the waitress if I could use the balance to tip her and she said I could not. So, I left her a $10 tip (she said I didn't have to leave a tip) meaning my one breakfast was $50.

Summary: Breakfast was the only part of the trip that didn't go "well". Overall, we loved our time there!

Positive: Love the town & the tradition of the bar. Staff, especially Betsy in the bar, are great!

Negative: We stayed in Room 315 which has an air handling system directly outside behind the bed. If you are used to sleeping in airplanes, it was ok. Otherwise, avoid this room if at all possible.

Summary: Wish we had been warned, or, better yet, been put in a less noisy room

Positive: The Inn is beautiful. Love the decor. The location was perfect for walking the town shops and restaurants.

Negative: The noise between floors. People walking above sounded like elephants. The hallway doors slam closed.
