Positive: The location was ideal for seeing Rutland. Everyone was nice, friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The room was clean and provided everything we needed for our stay.

Negative: We stayed in the Fox Room. Unfortunately the shower door didn’t close properly and we had to wedge it open from the inside to have a shower. We mentioned it and they were aware and said it was going to be fixed.

Summary: Stay was really good and we would stay again.

Positive: The room was in a separate building to the pub, just across the garden, so we didn’t have to worry about noise from downstairs. Room was cosy, very comfy bed and had everything we needed for the night (clothes hangers, coffee, tea, kettle, etc). We had dinner in the pub, staff were super friendly, food delicious and wine superb! Breakfast was also fantastic.

Negative: Room was very small, but cosy. Could hear the room next to us using the toilet throughout the night, then people moving around from about 7am as walls are quite thin. Not the end of the world, and still very happy with our stay.

Summary: Comfy, cosy, great staff and food!

Positive: Cooked breakfast was good. A more imaginative selection of cereals would have been nice. Also, the small jam and marmalade pots had all been opened and partially consumed!!

Positive: Lovely village pub,lots of life to it, welcoming to strangers/ visitors . Fabulous food. Fresh ingredients-even grow their own herbs in beds and pots round the beer garden.

Positive: Friendly welcome, staff all engaging and enthusiastic. Great location, countryside location. Good food, good breakfast. Proper country pub with rooms. Room( hare) although compact is absolutely fine for a short stay, good towels, TV, fan, tea coffee water. Clean bathroom, powerful shower. Good value.

Negative: Bathroom is a little tight in hare room.
