Positive: Cottage is situated in a beautiful corner of a calm country estate - it's an idyllic gatehouse with its own lovely secluded garden. Beautiful bathroom, lovely bedrooms and we enjoyed breakfast in the garden each morning. Only a short walk into the centre of Wells but feels like you're int he countryside.

Negative: No hanging rail or drawers in main bedroom - needs a chest of drawers at least to save living out of a suitcase

Positive: Great location to drive out of town or walk into town to see Wells. Accommodation is just enough for family of four. Good value too. Largely well maintained and equipped with most things working. Good shower, has parking, and quiet enough to sleep well. Lots of local information to get you going if you come unprepared. I would come back here again.

Negative: Internet speed very slow. Kitchen sink tap swan neck is siezed so won't swivel and hence you can't use the twin sinks. It is also loose at the base to the sink unit so a plumber required here. That was all. Everywhere else we visit always has more serious issues, so not much to worry about.

Summary: Great value, location & peaceful gatehouse.

Positive: Pretty much everything. Ideal location for exploring Wells, but still feels like you're not in an urban area. Lovely place, everything you need on site. Lovely hosts. Amazing garden up at the house with the best view over wells.

Positive: Loved the location and accommodation. We were greeted warmly and the welcome gift of cheese wine and cake was unexpected but wonderful. The cottage is cool inside, a welcome relief from hot sun.

Negative: Everything was fine for a short stay but a small wardrobe in the main bedroom would help if staying longer

Summary: Beautiful cottage and location would definitely use again if in the area.

Positive: Generous provisions - fruit, cheese, cider etc - on our arrival. Lovely location and great welcome in the garden. A nice homely feel and very clean. Very comfortable beds with lovely bed linen.

Negative: Only one bedside light in both bedrooms. Would have liked one each. No clothes storage in the main bedroom. Information on restaurants dated 2018 - needed an update! More mugs needed in the kitchen. Only small gripes as overall was a very enjoyable stay.

Summary: Great location, just outside the city but a quick and easy walk to the centre.
