Positive: Location close to good transport links, amenities and bars. Tastefully calming interior & decor, warm and cosy with good central heating and a hot shower. Everything you’d need onboard for a short stay. Great communication with host & clear self check-in details received in good time.

Negative: Wasn’t initially clear how to use the composting loo, but host was quick to respond and resolve our questions. Our winter stay meant a cold draft at the stern and the bow, but didn’t spoil our experience.

Summary: A local but tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle!

Positive: The location was brilliant, Hackney wick was a wonderful place to visit

Negative: Smell of diesel when heating turned up, cobwebs on a lot of the plants, but most of all no welcome pack, maybe a drop of milk /coffee for the morning, and knowing it was my wife's 60th maybe a bottle of wine and some kettle crisps would have been a nice touch, we did pay top dollar and I think this would have been nice, I have not stayed in many places that doesn't offer you something, especially a hot drink in the morning.

Negative: Access to the boat was difficult. The bolt on one of the entry doors was virtually impossible to shift and I cut my thumb in the process of trying to open it.

Positive: I booked this narrow boat for me and the wife as it was in close proximity to The London Stadium where we were going to an event. It was ideal just to chill out on the boat and on the deck with a drink without the need to go out and about which you feel you have to do if you’re in a hotel room, although a little walk up the tow path there are many riverside bars and restaurants if you did choose to go out. The boat is well equipped with a kitchen with a hob, an air fryer and fridge along with a kettle and toaster so we were able to cook our own meals during the stay. There is a small deck at the rear of the boat with folding chairs supplied to sit out on. The river where the the boat is moored is very active with boats passing often with everyone very friendly and giving you a wave as they passed. There is also a lot of wildlife on the river and we had a family of Moorhens building a nest right behind the boat which was lovely to watch. The bedroom has a double bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower and instant hot water which worked as good as our one at home. The toilet was a composting toilet which we didn’t find to be an issue.
