Positive: The location was close to the wedding venue I was attending and the staff were very pleasant.

Negative: A few things could be improved: 1) check-in / check-out information was really explained when I arrived 2) the WiFi in the room wasn’t working due to strong winds 3) the water in the shower didn’t drain away properly so overflowed 4) given the location of the pub, with two busy roads either side, sleeping was an issue due to noise

Positive: Lunch and bar facilities excellent. Staff very engaging (especially Anna).

Negative: In-room breakfast was poor. (Croissants in room un-sealed since at least 2pm on day before). Pub not open until noon, but check-out by 11 - no flexibility for a late check-out. Cell-phone signal and 4G almost non-existent. WiFi unreliable. Pub closed at 10pm on Friday night despite there being residenta in all 3 rooms - no flexibility.

Summary: A pub with 3 rooms and no desire to provide real hospitality to residents.

Positive: The rooms are separate from the pub. Ours was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The room was clean with plenty of towels.

Negative: The continental breakfast was all prepackaged and not fresh. There was only one small bottle of water and one small bottle of orange juice. So, as we both wanted juice, one of us had to go without. There were no staff on site to assist, as the pub wasn't open.

Negative: There was NO and I mean NO phone signal or wi-fi although it said wi-fi available - it was NOT

Positive: A great gastropub with rooms - decor, lighting, ambience in the pub and of course the food (steak) was outstanding - professional and efficient service by the staff on hand. Loyalty discount provided on the evening meal cost (given we were staying the night). Advance continental breakfast kindly provided given it was New Year's Day the following day. Room was equally good too and well furnished - a pleasant and comfortable environment to relax in - the large double bed made for a good night's sleep. Small fridge available in the room for keeping things cool. Sizeable car park by the property

Negative: WiFi was a bit patchy, albeit useable. Be aware that this isn't a B&B, it's a pub/restaurant with rooms and that the staff are typically busy serving customers (if you're expecting a chatty host to be on hand night and day, this place probably isn't for you)

Positive: We were going to a wedding reception a mile or so down the road from the pub and so it was very convenient. Our room in the garden area was spacious and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the pub itself had a very pleasant ambience.

Negative: The breakfast isn't served until 10.30 which was after we planned to check out and be on our way. This wasn't a problem for us but it could be inconvenient if you have a long day ahead of you.
