Positive: Breakfast, views were lovely, spa facilities and heated outdoor pool, ease of parking, onsite activities proximity to south coast path, beach and town

Negative: I had a couple of unfortunate experiences with a noise in my room at night and a broken shower in the room I was moved to. The move was accepted very quickly by no one apologised for the inconvenience of moving rooms at 1am and then having no working shower until the following afternoon

Positive: Stunning views, incredible well-heated outdoor pool and lovely spa facilities. Bed was gloriously comfortable, and the bedroom and bathroom were well decorated and comfortable. The staff were fabulous across the hotel, and the food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was great. The wine list is good, especially enjoyed the Muscat d'Asti pudding wine (check the full wine list as it's not on the "by the glass" list but they do it and it's very good value. I would highly recommend a massage. One of the best I've had, and I've had them all over the world in top hotels.

Negative: The fact that having paid £772 for our 2 nights stay (3 weeks prior), 1 week before our stay, the same room and meal option for the exact same date was dropped to £384. Having contacted the hotel, they refused to refund, upgrade us etc. They did say we could cancel and rebook at the loss of the initial £772...go on then, I'd love to throw money away...as if. At breakfast on both mornings, we were not asked if we wanted tea, coffee or toast. On the first morning, I asked if there was a coffee machine to which the answer was "yes". I asked a second time for somewhere I could get a coffee again, "yes". The facilties were good, but my wife and I agreed that having already spent the 2 previous days of our anniversary break in a hotel in St Ives, we wish we'd stayed there.
