Positive: Lovely, helpful staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Didn't use the restaurant, but the food in the bar was reasonably priced and very good. Pool and sauna were clean and convenient, room was a good size.

Negative: The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the water in the bathroom was only just hot enough. Could have done with a bit more information in the rooms on e.g. opening times for the bar and pool, and slightly better signposting to reception - I walked in circles a few times!

Summary: Reasonably priced hotel with lovely staff.

Positive: Good value for money pleasant staff and armosphere

Negative: The lift!! No ground floor room my fault did not ask but have been 4 times before always GF. 2 trips back to reception as lift says GF I am in 914 and told it was on first floor. Pressed 1 lift did not move. Walk back to reception told "I must make sure door is closed". Go back try still no move. Go back second time meet member of staff who says. This is "1 you need to press 2". Tired, frustrated and 78 years old I think you need to clarify if lift starts on GF or first floor. Second point day 2 card refuses to let us into room have to go all the way back to reception who give us a new key. Unexpected problems.

Positive: The location was lovely. The hotel and food were adequate but not exceptional. The spa facilities were good. The superior double room was a good size and the bathroom was great. The bed was comfortable.

Negative: The bedroom generally was too cool for this time of year. The general decor in parts of the hotel were a little on the shabby side. The breakfast was adequate but the cooked breakfast was not very warm. My meal in the bar had to go back to the kitchen because it wasn’t hot enough. Whilst the stay in the hotel was fine for a one night which was all that we wanted, it would have been disappointing if I had been staying for several days.

Summary: Adequate but nothing special. Slightly on the shabby side.

Negative: It had a funny smell in the room and had to sleep with the window open. The Weather was nice so was no issue Ordered food in the restaurant that took over an hour (they ended up delivering to my room because it was getting too late) Food wasn’t the best. I think the chef must of went home and the night porter cooked it instead. Nice staff and polite however

Positive: From the outside it looks great, there’s a decent amount of parking. The reception is nice and the last on reception was lovely. The location is good and the burgers in the bar are lovely. The young lad and waitress in the bar are really lovely and although they are worked off their feet they had time to chat to everyone whilst serving. Note to managers they are people you need to keep, they make your hotel!

Negative: The whole place needs some updating. Most of the carpets could do with a good steam clean. The carpet on the stairs up to the rooms starting with 700 is coming away, which could be a trip hazard especially if you wear heels👠 . All of the room doors have splashes of paint on them, I’m not sure if this is someone’s attempt to create a paint effect but I really doubt it. In our room 713, the grout in the bathroom needs replacing in the shower, the taps have been put on the wrong way, so when you turn the tap in you have to turn it the other way, really strange. We had 2 single beds connected together, which was fine , however it meant there was only room for on bedside cabinet and the other side was so close to the wall you had to side shuffle out of bed. The plaster around the window was missing and the safety wire was snapped which meant the window opened wide so if you have young children that’s a safety risk. The room was really hot but a fan was supplied in the room which was appreciated. The beds were quite comfy and the bedding and towels were super white and soft and of great quality. The whole hotel needs some TLC, the staff work super hard and what appears to be long hours, the young lad in the bar was on his own on a busy Friday night and there was one lady serving food, she was run off her feet but so lovely.
