Positive: We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding nearby and absolutely loved it. The house itself is stunning – a beautiful old building full of character, with gorgeous gardens that make the setting really special. The staff couldn’t have been lovelier. Everyone we met was so sweet, attentive and genuinely welcoming, which made the stay feel really personal. Breakfast each morning was excellent – you sit down with a menu and choose from a full English, vegetarian English, or eggs cooked any style, along with toast, fresh orange juice and really good coffee. A perfect start to the day. Our room was spacious and full of charm, complete with a roll-top bath, quality toiletries, and everything we needed (an iron and ironing board were provided on request). The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the fact that our room was refreshed and the bed made up after our first night was a lovely touch, especially for such a short stay. The location is also great – there’s a traditional pub literally a minute’s walk away, with a friendly local atmosphere, good food and plenty of character. All in all, this was a fantastic stay and excellent value. We’ll definitely be back, and I can see why it would make such a beautiful setting for weddings. Highly recommend.

Positive: Breathtaking historical property in an immaculate quintessential English Village which is well worth a visit. Warm and friendly staff. Beautifully furnished rooms which were immaculate and very comfortable. Superb breakfast. All in all another memorable stopover. Look forward to returning.

Negative: Maid’s and Footman’s Rooms have very low beams so ‘risky’ if you are over 6’ tall. Access stairs also VERY steep.
