Enjoying wonderful views across the surrounding countryside, our thatched cottage stands in its own lovely grounds which include a large sun terrace in which to relax and admire the views. As well as an adjoining paddock, there is a children’s swing and slide. A private indoor heated swimming pool and sauna room help make it a fantastic location for larger families or a number of couples holidaying together at any time of year. The beaches at Bude are just a15 min drive away.
The house stands in its own delightful enclosed gardens, which include a large sun terrace in which to relax and admire the views. We provide a gas barbecue.
The house has a large adjoining paddock, but please be careful of the little stream at the boundary: there is a simple fence but inquisitive children will need be supervised.
With its own private heated indoor pool Tumbles Lodge is ideal for get together with family and friends.
There is a children's slide and swing in the garden
Inside, everyone says what a great social space the kitchen/dining room.
There are two sitting rooms with TVs . One of them has a table football, which is great for kids of any age.
Please note that there are quite a lot of steps between the different areas of the house to be aware of .
One of the best things about the house is of course the swimming pool which is fun to use at anytime of year and whatever the weather. Please make sure children are well supervised in and around the pool.
There is family sauna room for you to use but please note that it is metered for which you will need £1 coins
Situated along a quiet country lane, our cottage lies 2 miles from the ancient village of Stratton with simple shops, two inns and a church. It is just 4 miles to the sandy beaches at Bude, which are popular with surfers. Bude also has sea water swimming-pool to enjoy, as well as many other seaside attractions including shops, pubs and restaurants.
Horse riding, ten pin bowling, Splash Leisure Centre and an 18-hole golf course are further activities to enjoy,
The large kitchen diner has a dining table that accommodates twelve comfortably. There are 2 extra dining chairs and 2 high chairs are available. The kitchen is well equipped for home cooking.
Sliding patio doors lead for the kitchen diner to the pool and the sauna beyond with their own changing facilities and shower and WC
The ground floor has a snug sitting room with TV , football table and woodburner.
The utility room has a washing machine and tumble drier.
The master bedroom Is on the ground floor looks out over the patio with the garden and countryside beyond. It has a 5ft bed, TV, doors to patio and en-suite shower room with toilet. There is room for an additional guest bed or cot.
Adjacent to the master bedroom is a twin bedroom overlooking the patio .
A shower room with toilet is nearby .
From the snug a short flight of stairs leads to a family bathroom a double bedroom with space for a guest bed or cot and a twin bedroom.
On the first floor there is a large living room with an open fire and view towards the countryside. We provide a small quantity of logs to start you off.
Leading up from the living room a short flight of stairs takes you to the first floor with a twin bedroom with a view over fields to the side and a double bedroom with 5ft bed and en-suite shower room and WC. The double has views over the fields opposite the house and has space for an additional guest bed or cot.
There is another family bathroom with WC on this floor.
The bedrooms are all a nice size and naturally form three groups of two with a double and a twin in each group.
All en-suite bathrooms have been recently updated.

Summary: Excellent property, the pictures don't do it justice. Best layout of kitchen we have experienced since starting these family three generation holidays 3 years ago. And then the swimming pool just icing on the cake, lovely and warm, couldn't keep the children out of there.

Summary: To spend time at Tumbles Lodge was the perfect get away from it all holiday. It catered for all ages from 2 to 67 years in our case. The lodge was so spacious and welcoming and really comfortable in every aspect. The swimming pool and sauna was an absolute bonus as we had storms and rain all week in Bude! and so we were able to use the pool everyday. It is situated in a great location to visit the beaches, places of interest both outdoors and inside, theme parks and Clovelly over the border into Devon. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful thatched cottage together with the goodies that was left for us on arrival. The memories of our stay will last a lifetime.

Summary: We have just returned from an amazing Christmas at Tumbles Lodge. It has everything needed to make a brilliant holiday for all the family, whatever their ages. The dining room and kitchen area is a great space not only for eating and cooking together but also because the indoor swimming pool is right next to it. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to cater for Christmas dinner for 15 people. The 6 bedrooms are all spacious, with comfortable beds and plenty of storage. The master bedroom is ensuite and the other bedrooms all have close access to other bathrooms. The swimming pool is a really good size and heated to a comfortable temperature. Again, a brilliant family space to enjoy together. We didn't use the patio area or outside spaces because the weather was poor during our stay, but there was ample space and seating for all the family. All in all, we had a great stay at Tumbles Lodge and would thoroughly recommend it for a family holiday. Communication with Sue was also quick and easy. We all look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Summary: Lovely cottage. Wish the lanes were a bit wider, had some hairy moneys with tractors. There were a few items that were in need of attention e.g windows that wouldn't open or close. but it would be churlish to say this spoilt things in any way. A lovely touch was a basket of goodies on arrival. The pool was fantastic and much bigger than expected.Lovely gardens, superb for a barbecue. Overall, great.Thank you so much.

Summary: The house was great due to the space available. The pool allowed our group to enjoy the break even if the British weather tried to dampen the spirits. Check in and communication was excellent. The facilities at the house made cooking for 15 very easy, the large top lounge was great for quiz nights and boards games. The Bude Sea Pool is a must - a great way to start the day. Thanks the Williams'

Summary: Beautiful house and lovely area close to beaches. House had everything we needed as a large party of mixed ages. Liked the separate areas to the house meaning multiple families had their own space if needed. Many bathrooms also a bonus. The swimming pool was very popular and used frequently as the weather was not kind for our week. I liked that I could keep an eye on the kids in the pool from the kitchen if I didn’t want to swim as much as they did. Great holiday Thanks again

Summary: The whole family have thoroughly enjoyed their stay this week despite variable weather. Beautiful beaches all within a short drive and everyone loved the pool on those rainy days. Some of the kitchen cupboards are perhaps showing some age if you want to be picky but that doesn’t in any way detract from the holiday. Tucked away down a quiet one track lane, beautiful countryside and stunning beaches close by. Only thing missing for us was an ordinance survey map or directions to any close footpaths in our immediate surroundings.
