Positive: We liked the tranquility of the surroundings and nature in general. The view on the abandoned train station is also quite special, like a movie decor. We would have liked to do some walks in the area, but it was too hot. The property is a nice house with annex on the other side of the road, where you can find the cute donkeys and beautiful swimming pool in Alentejo style. The rooms are very comfortable and modern, although they are quite small. We enjoyed the nice common terrace and the amazing starry night. You defintely need a car to go to the restaurant or to one of the lovely villages like Marvao. We got some good advice about places to see and activities to do from the nice lady welcoming us. We also liked the praia fluvial de Portagem to cool down. Although it was very crowdy, there was a good vibe.

Negative: It would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room - or in the common space.

Summary: Beautiful house in remote natural surroundings. Ideal to relax and visit the villages in the area.

Positive: The place itself was very nice, cozy and well decorated. The pool is good but a bit far away from the bedrooms. Staff was nice. Breakfast was really good!

Negative: The bad thing is that this place is very far away from any restaurant, supermarket. If you don’t have a car, you don’t go anywhere.

Positive: A small six-room hotel in a very interesting location. In Marvao district, the hill top town is not far to visit (great place to visit but after a couple of hours you have 'done' it). Beside railway lines and almost opposite a wonderful old station, but no problem with noise as the train line from here to Caceras in Spain closed down more than 12 years ago. Close to great Roman excavations in Portugal and over the border in Spain and a number of small towns. The hotel was spotless. The host provided splendid breakfasts and was keen to find something extra every day. Good sized swimming pool. Good place to stay
