Positive: Taikyourou is in a wonderful location, very clean, and beautifully maintained. My water-view room was dreamy, and I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner — the food was truly excellent. The only thing that could be improved is the welcome. As a solo traveler, I found the staff polite and efficient, but a little distant. A warmer, more personal touch would make the experience feel even more special.

Positive: Staff are very friendly and helpful, even with minimal English. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional featuring seasonal specialties. Location is excellent!

Negative: Its a traditional inn, so sleeping on the tatami floor and having meals seated on the floor is part of the Japanese culture foreigners need to embrace.
