Positive: The tatami room was spacious and the futon beds were very comfortable. We were able to book one of the private onsens which was a highlight of our trip! We also really enjoyed the cafe/baron the ground floor, it has a spectacular view of the garden and the koy pond.

Negative: The breakfast was traditional Japanese breakfast but the portion was a little small.

Positive: The staff are working hard, and they have achieved everything that makes it a very good ryokan, from any perspective. Interesting fact: the average age of customers is notably higher than the other ryokans I have stayed in Japan.

Negative: Although I have nothing to complain about, I still have something to say, which is not for everyone, but just for travellers like me: it lacks the soul – everything is good, but it feels more like a "facility". There is nothing wrong about that, but worth noting for maybe a few people like me.

Positive: There was a slight confusion during check-in really just due to my limited language skills). Staff were very welcoming and and kind - wait stay in restaurant were especially precious. A prompt shuttle is provided to the parking area - even though it's just a very short walk. When I asked about a store nearby, a staff member who was getting off work walked me to the store. Food options were good for both dinner and breakfast. Room was very comfortable and lake area I the middle was impressive with large colorful Koi. Interiors in common area are very pleasant and relaxing. Although this ws a royakon - I would highly recommend it for a stay by a solo traveler.

Negative: I wish there was a coin laundry - but I understand. - it was offered to drive me to a nearby laundry of I request.

Summary: comfort and courtesy - refreshing and calm. Have a glass of wine by the Koi pond after dinner.

Positive: Everything.. Fantastic place. Nice staff. Big room with view on the river. Nice onsen. Amazing dinner and breakfast. Best place I stayed during my 4 weeks' trip all over Japan.

Negative: The absence of a mosquito net on at least one of the windows. Would have been nice to have non-AC air and hear the river.
