Positive: The facilities are amazing, the food was fantastic, the staff was friendly!

Negative: There is not much going on in the summer time in this part of Nagano.

Positive: Rooms are pleasant enough - nothing fancy and a little "dated" but have all the basics and a good size. Walls were a little thin so we could here our neighbours at times. The bathroom was freezing (we visited in winter), but it was at least clean, modern and had a great hot shower. Also we got ice inside our windows, so had to keep the blinds down throughout the day to help keep the heat in.,

Negative: Food was pretty bad - dinner especially. Very basic menu, and all the items we had were pretty bland and tasteless. Also tended to fill the plate with cheapy pasta / noodles / rice, but a scraping of meat. Prices weren't exorbitant but expensive given the low quality and lack of protein / veg / tasty stuff served. Breakfast was better, though very few Western options (if that's your preference).

Summary: Pleasant enough, just don't expect top notch facilities.

Negative: Location is further from main Shiga kogen area but you have varios smaller resorts closer including right on the slopes of Ryou ski resort.

Summary: Great location, clean and modern hotel, very friendly staff with great English, delicious breakfast.

Positive: Nice staff, nice rooms. Directly at the slopes

Negative: The food was just so ok, the restaurant in the neighbour building was like a Railway station waiting hall....... .

Positive: The room was spacious and clean. The chair lift was located within a short walking distance. Free lockers for ski equipment storage. Complimentary shuttle service to and from Iiyama Station (I did not use), as well as the one-time pick up and drop off service at Ryuoo Ski Park Information Centre.

Negative: The buffet breakfast was quite monotonous. We had the same food everyday for 8 mornings. Similarly the dinner menu was limited (not suitable for people with dietary restrictions) and did not change during my stay. It would have been helpful if the hotel had informed me prior to my arrival that it is located on the slope in the ski park and is only accessible by vehicles fitted with snow tracks. Our driver had difficulty locating the hotel, which caused some inconvenience.

Summary: Aside from the meals, everything else was fine.
