Slow down, switch off and relax in a retro bush shack in the beautiful Forgotten Valley. Welcome to our home in Lower Macdonald. Just an hours drive from Sydney.
What we love about our place:
- the serenity: set in a beautiful bush setting, spend your time spotting birds and wildlife
- switch off: relax doing nothing, play ping pong, read books, board games, ride, hike or just doze
- the location: you know when need another holiday to recover from hours and hours of holiday traffic? Not here!
Our spaces:
Our combined lounge dining room is ideal for four people, with two comfy lounges to relax in. The kitchen is original and retro styled, with the most important item: the Breville Barista Express - bring your beans!
We have an indoor dining setting plus another retro gorgeous blue Formica dining set (original and definitely not straight) on the deck for al fresco lunches.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed and gorgeous valley bush views.
Bedroom 2 has a double bunk with single on top (single suitable only for a child or teen).
The bathroom is original, no tub, basic and cute!
We have an amazing huge deck tucked into the bush, with weights, ping pong, BBQ. We do yoga on the deck or downstairs. BYO yoga mat.
Undercover parking for two cars. Laundry with washing machine, dryer.
Important things to note:
We don’t have wifi and TV at the shack and we love that!! We love to disconnect and completely switch off. However, the mobile cellular network does operate here, so you can make calls and jump online through your phone if it’s needed. But trust us… not having the constant connection is truly a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet of the bush.
And did we mention the kangaroo mob that lives in the paddock across the road?
Note pets are welcome but the place is NOT fenced. So look after your loved four-legged pals!
Our wood fired heater inside is for decor only and not for use. Wehave a reverse cycle spilt system air con (cooling and heating) that warms the place up brilliantly, and cools it down in summer. We also have the fire pit in the garden and ample heaters and a ceiling fan in the main bedroom.
The property is accessed by stairs.
The maximum number able to accommodate is 5 but it is really only suitable for a maximum of 4 adults, due to number of dining chairs and the accessibility of the top bunk bed in the second bedroom.
This is our home (we live in it) so be aware our things will be around the house. We will put as much away as we can but please respect our stuff. You can use basics like oil, vinegar, salt, pepper etc.
