Positive: We arrived late in the afternoon to the Sweet Retreat, it was very easy to get inside and we quickly made ourselves right at home. The space had everything we needed, with lots of space for dining, sleeping and relaxing after a long day. Everything from supermarkets, coffee shops and pubs are right outside or just a very short stroll away. The bedrooms were comfortable and despite the non stop heat this summer were relatively cool at night. The TV and internet worked seamlessly to keep the kids occupied in the late evening which was a great bonus. It was lovely to pop next door to SuperValu to pickup some freshly baked goods for our breakfast. Even though we only spent one night we would love to return!

Positive: We were happy to have our own breakfast, which we bought from Dunnes Stores before driving from Cork City. The location is excellent, with convenient parking nearby. It is also very close to the boat tour for Bere Island.

Negative: There was nothing we didn’t like; everything we needed was provided. Overall, it was very satisfactory.

Positive: The Sweet Retreat was a proper gem of a find and so glad the place I was looking to book wasn't available. Such a cool little place which has been done out to a very high standard. It's perfectly located in the centre of town with on street parking right outside or just down the road within a few car lengths. Great little kitchen with everything you'd need, lovely comfy beds, great shower. All in all, wonderful, we had such a lovely relaxing time. We can't recommend the Sweet Retreat highly enough. Oh, you need to pop into the SuperValue supermarket which is just round the corner (which is a rather upmarket place) and try some of the local Atlantic king of which are huge and gorgeous and the local scallops, again, big a gorgeous 👌

Negative: There wasn't anything to not like, it was all A1, 5⭐
