Positive: The location was perfect for access to the park. The rooms were spacious. Beds very comfortable. Laundry was a nice convenience.

Negative: The furniture was worn. Shade in master was not functional. Very noisy when upstairs occupied. Could hear all footsteps. Master sink cracked so that it could not be cleaned to remove black growth in cracks. Towel bar missing. Lots of small details need updating like area around sink in master. Could have used a serving bowl and large pot.

Summary: Functional, comfortable, convenient place to stay for our trip to Acadia.

Positive: Great location, comfortable beds and linens, plenty of space for a family of four - 2 adults in master bedrooms and 2 kids in twin beds across the apartment in a separate bedroom. We saw wild deer grazing outside 2-3 days in a row.

Negative: Check in instructions were wrong. Info provided instructed us to enter a 10-digit code at the electronic lock, similar to a phone number. The lock only accepts 4 digits. Contacted Vacasa support and was told repeatedly to enter the same 10-digit code even though the lock only takes 3 digits. After repeating the details to them several times, they finally came back to direct us to the mechanical key box away from the door. They still insisted the key box takes a 10-digit phone number code, which is wrong. Eventually they provided a 4-digit code for the key box that worked to access physical keys. Second access problem is that the door locks cannot be set to unlocked. The physical key is required every time the door is opened from the outside. This creates excess challenges if you need to step outside to retrieve an item from your car for example. Plan ahead and bring the key if you don't want to be locked out. Malfunctioning HVAC system - controls for cooling & heating did not work - system would only blow moist air, bringing indoor humidity over 90% and making all furnishings (couch/bed) feel sticky. Showers are tiny. They are wide enough for a thin person to stand and just barely maneuver enough for cleansing, while banging into walls and fixtures. Anyone who is overweight would have difficulty using these showers at best. No exhaust fans in bathrooms, adding to the humidity problems. Upstairs apartment is very loud when tenants are inside. We had multiple 5am/6am wake ups from the upstairs neighbors thumping around - sounds like a bowling alley above. Overall the space feels like a converted garage. Elevated floors in the bathrooms to accommodate plumbing, wall-mount conduits and bulkheads for electrical and HVAC connections, etc. No scenery to speak of - this is just a place to sleep at night in between adventures around the park or in town.

Summary: Convenient location to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP, but the apartment needs a few improvements.
