Positive: I like the small apartment setup. The location was just a short walk from the area of town we had bookings in. That was nice.

Negative: The bed was very hard. The most uncomfortable I've slept in a long time, unfortunately. The other couple used the mats in the dining room and said they were much more comfortable. I was unclear what apartment we were staying in by the booking confirmation. I did not realize there are like 4 suites in one building. But sure to ask which villa # you are in. And yes, the hill to walk up with luggage could be rough, but we just had backpacks, so that wasn't a big deal.

Positive: Beautiful space. The tatami rooms were flexible and perfect for my nieces. The place was very clean and good directions were provided for most everything. It was walking distance to 2 Nobu restaurants and a great pizza joint! The Gora train station is nearby too. We loved our stay!

Negative: The twin beds were a little hard. The hot springs bath was a little confusing to operate and was WAY too hot if you fill it with just hot water. We let a half full tub of water cool then filled it up the rest of the way with new hot water. The over/microwave was a little confusing to operate since it is a dual unit. . Off a steep hill.

Summary: Lovely! Would stay there again.

Positive: 1. Location is convenient, near the train station and restaurants 2. Private Onsen with Certification of water quality provided. 3. Large, clean, bright and tidy apartment with functional kitchen. (Please wash utensils and dishes before use though) 4. Fuss Free and easy check-in and check-out process. (be careful when checking out because the entry code changes) 5. Power Extension strips can be found in the kitchen. (for use in bedroom)

Negative: 1. Parking is side-ways on a slope on a narrow two-way alley (the kind wide enough for one car only). make sure you park in the lot allocated to your apartment 2. Apartment was very cold on arrival. (February 2025, Outside Temp was 0deg) - Even with heaters on it was cold, until I realized the window in the bathroom was left open for ventilation. - After closing the window and leaving the heaters on for 1-2 hrs it became warmer - Please also use the main heater in the living room (on the floor) as the air-conditioner types are insufficient for winter. 3. Toilet is cold, although the toilet seat and bidet are warm. (Slippers are a life-saver) 4. No coffee or tea provided. 5. Although the apartment can stay many people, there is only one toilet so be aware.

Positive: As usual: Gora is a great place to set as a base in Hakone. Accommodation is easily accessible by the mountain rail and by bus. Coming there after 6pm means a 200m walk uphill, which is OK unless you have lots of luggage with you - before that time you can ride the cablecar. The apartment is quite spacious, it's got all the cooking utensils and of course its own onsen. But don't expect it to be extraordinary as it is a simple alcaline hot spring, not a rich sulfur one that you can find in some other places in Hakone.

Negative: Check-in process is lame. Taking a video on a tablet and pronouncing your names? Really? This is some new sort of nonsense I've never seen in Japan before. It's not an issue, but it is not what you'd expect in any nice place. This is our 50th+ hotel/guesthouse/etc. in Japan in the past 5+ years. The place is a bit noisy when it's raining. It's not just the normal sound of the rain, but some real noise because the gutters are engineered in some very bad way. We were very tired, so we could fall asleep just fine. But it was not a pleasant experience at all.

Summary: Nice apartment in a great area, all good overall
