From bass fishing, heritage trail hiking, boating through serene and quiet lakes to kayaking, tennis, basketball and wonderful sunsets, this 450 feet of lake front property has it all. Amazing colours of Fall take you into breath-taking winter landscapes and all the related activity you would expect.
Located in the west bay of Sand Lake in the heart of the Rideau Lakes district. A chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and locks extending 202 km from Kingston, at the east end of Lake Ontario to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. Completed in 1832 by the British, this historic waterway with its 45 locks and 19 km of canal cuts is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site carefully maintained and operated by Parks Canada. The Rideau Lakes are located in Eastern Ontario, approximately 1 hour from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Kingston, 30 minutes from the Thousand Islands Bridge to the U.S.A. and 3 1/2 hours from Toronto.
This 6 bedroom, 3 bath property has been designed for family and friend gatherings, inside and out, with large upper and lower decks (with stunning views), a screened-in post and beam lanai, private regulation size tennis and basketball court, large dock equipped with a 6 person pontoon and 1 person kayak. The quiet lake and surroundings also offer romantic moments for moon watching, starry nights, loon listening and peaceful contemplation seated at the end of the dock.
Access by well maintained roads, near the quaint and convenient village of Elgin. Elgin has an excellent grocery store, small pharmacy and a few shops and is approximately a 20 minute drive from the town of West Port, noted as the little Ireland of the area. West Port has many fine shops, restaurants, bakeries and heritage sites.
There are a number of lock systems to explore by boat or just sit on the dock and take a swim. The walk down to the dock is great exercise (300 ft by stairs or by interlocked road); however, if needed, it is a quick drive to Jones Falls for drop off and pick-up with the boat, as we have done many times for our elderly Mom.
We take pride in our family cottage and property and you will find it in good welcoming condition, with fresh linens, well- equipped kitchen, barbeque, outdoor furniture, tennis and fishing equipment. Lovely gardens and plenty of shade. We have two heat pumps for warmth and cooling. There are also has separate portable air conditioners as needed.
Minimum stay of 7 nights please to really enjoy Eagles' Landing!

Summary: Susan, The week was great. The house was great for our family of 7 adults and a two year old. There was so much space it never felt crowded. Beautifully equipped kitchen that lacked for nothing. Having a boat was great to fish and just cruise around. The tennis courts were used everyday then to the lake to swim. It was a bucket list for me to bring my family back to a lake that I vacationed on growing up and it didn't disappoint in anyway. Thanks for a great experience. Kay

Summary: We just spent a week at Eagles Landing and we had an wonderful time. It’s a beautiful property that’s been lovingly cared for by the owners. It has everything needed for a great holiday including recreational ‘toys’ such as a kayak, tennis court and boat. Susan was excellent at responding to any question we had and got back to us immediately. The views are breathtaking and the screened in sun porch area became referred to as the ‘living the good life’ room The shoreline is rocky and water shoes are needed to enter from the land and there are many steps to reach the lake but if you read the property description it’s all explained. We loved it so much that we’re already talking about renting again.

Summary: The well-designed cottage comfortably accommodated our two families of four and was well appointed inside and out. Susan has taken care to ensure visitors have what they need to make the most of their visit. On the practical side, the kitchen has plenty of high-quality supplies and appliances, the beds are comfortable, there was sufficient hot water, the heat pumps cooled the interior well despite 30-degree-plus temps (little need to use the portable cooling units) and everything was exceptionally clean. The lake views are fantastic and there are many outdoor seating areas/options to enjoy them, including plenty of seating for outdoor family dinners. We made good use of the pontoon boat to get around the lake (only 25hp but nothing is that far away) and the kayak was great for our kids; for those interested in fishing, there is no shortage of largemouth bass and we found some pike, too. Susan was very quick to respond to any questions with helpful info and the cottage instructions were generally easy to follow. As noted, it is quite a hike up the steps from the lake to the cottage so some visitors may need to consider this but it was a worthwhile trip that we got used to it pretty quickly.

Summary: We loved this cottage! To start, the cottage is so well built, each room has a great view and was very comfortable. There was lots of space for everyone to not feel crowded. Going on the boat was a definite highlight. Very easy to go for a spin and jump in the water. We enjoyed it so much we didn't mind the stairs! It was also great to have the tennis court for in between swims. Communication with the host was very efficient. Only note is it would be good to have a printed more detailed manual/some instructions at the cottage (ie navigating all the keys, location of linens and detergent, using the Tv, designated indoor garbage bins, guidelines for boat use, etc.). A very equipped and homey cottage and a great stay. Thank you Susan!
