This spacious 3 bedroom/2.5 bathroom home has everything you'll need to enjoy a fun filled or relaxing time near one of Des Moines most entertaining neighborhoods. Enjoy the large two-tiered patio in the fully fenced backyard, spend time in the spacious interior perfect for families or groups complete with game and exercise rooms, go out and visit the restaurants/bars/shops/parks within only a few minutes walk, or take a short drive to one of the many other exciting areas nearby.
With over 1,500 sf to enjoy, this home provides ample space to unwind and relax or to spend an entertaining time with friends and family. Tons of windows and natural lighting make this home bright and welcoming, and the room darkening shades give you the ability to allow just the right amount of light in for however you're feeling. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds with king sized pillows, the third bedroom has a queen size mattress, and a pull out sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space to accommodate the entire crew. Their is a full bathroom on the main floor, and the upstairs bedroom includes a 3/4 private bathroom / en-suite (tub, toilet, and sink) and a walk-in closet. A fully stocked kitchen, equipped with a gas oven, provides for all of your basic needs allowing you to cook up your favorite dishes. A reverse osmosis (RO) system has also been installed to supply high quality water anytime that is great for drinking or cooking. A formal dining room just off of the kitchen provides a great place to eat as a group or serves as a great place to play games. The living room has a large smart TV with reliable hardwired internet access allowing you to watch your favorite shows on your favorite streaming services. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the breakfast nook area with seating or take it outside on the large two-tier back patio. The space is family friendly and has accommodations for children including step stool, baby gate, kid-friendly plates/cups/utensils, and more. The game room is a great place to entertain both kids and adults as it has a ping-pong table, foosball table, table top hockey, and pop-shot basketball with all necessary balls, paddles, pucks, etc included. There is also an exercise area with free weights and an exercise bike so you can get a workout in without leaving the home. The basement laundry room includes a washer and dryer available for guest use, as well as a 1/2 bathroom. An ADA ramp for the front step is available to be installed prior to guests stay upon request. There is a private double wide driveway for guests use that provides four off-street parking spaces, with on-street parking available as well. Please do not park directly across the street between the "No Parking Here to Corner" signs as this area is not intended for parking.
Located just blocks from shops, restaurants, bars, grocers, and convenience stores in the Historic Valley Junction 5th St and the 4th & Grand corridors, this home offers tremendous walkability to explore the neighborhood without the need for loading up in the car each time you head out for entertainment.
Alternatively, the area is also very bike friendly for those who would like to explore the area faster due to the amount of bike trails in the immediate area. If you'd like to explore outside of Valley Junction, interstate access is only minutes away and can get you almost anywhere in the Des Moines metro within 15 minutes.

Summary: Property was just as described. Beautiful home with character! Conveniently located to West Des Moines and downtown historic Valley Junction, a quaint shopping village with coffee shops and eateries. Gameroom in basement was a hit with my niece and nephew. Fenced in back yard was wonderful for my pup who was on her first road trip. Felt like home away from home!

Summary: We had another great stay at Valley Junction Retreat! It's a wonderful home in a great neighborhood, just a couple blocks from downtown Valley Junction. We love to just wander down for a bit of shopping, drinks or dinner. We also love this for our dogs. With a fully fenced back yard, patio doors and an amazing deck, it's so easy to wander outside with them! They love coming here, even in the winter!

Summary: We loved everything about this awesome home! We were staying for two weeks to see a specialist for our little one, and wanted a place that felt at home. A 17 hour car, two day, ride later we arrived and immediately felt at home. The home was just as pictured, host was super responsive, and we were close to everything from the house. Highly recommend this home and host if you ever need anywhere to stay in Des Moines!
